Notes to the rental rates

  • Xmas and New year £1200 per week. £300 refundable deposit required. 50% payment with booking. Balance, including deposit, 6 weeks prior to arrival date. Additional services (e.g hamper/laundry), pay local Agent. For parties over 8 guests there is a supplement of 50 euros per person per week for each additional person. This is to cover the additional cost levied by the local property agent responsible for cleaning and laundry. If guests require the use of the air conditioned accommodation in the converted double garage there is a supplement of 500 euros per week, and the per person supplement does not apply.
  • Guests may pre-order Hampers and fresh flowers which will be delivered to the property. The property is cleaned and service prior to arrival and on a weekly basis for multi-week guests. Additional housekeeping can also be arranged during your stay at €15 per hour.. There is a utility room with automatic washing machine which will be adequate for most guests. We can also arrange airport transfers, car hire, golf bookings, yacht hire, tours, excursions, restaurant reservations, special functions, treatments at a local 5 star spa and wellness centre, and discounted tickets to shows and attractions. A local property agent will meet you at the property, give you your keys, and check you in.
  • The main lounge and dining area is air conditioned, but most guests will find the Villa is ideal for outside living and al-fresco dining. There are a number of different terrace areas which can be used for al fresco dining and a large roof terrace. Immediately outside the lounge is a covered terrace with sea and sunset views, ideal for breakfast. The Gardens are beautifully planted with a variety of mediterranean plants and trees including bougainvillea, roses, orange, lemon, olive, and fig trees, giving splendid colour to the property. Guests are welcome to help themselves to figs and olives in season. The tennis court doubles as a basketball court and general play area for kids of all ages. (Rackets not supplied). The property is completely enclosed on all sides and is entered through remote control gates, ensuring toddlers are safe to run around, and with ample off-street covered parking.

Notes:

The property is in the style of a traditional Mallorcan country house, including its original water well and stables. Internet, telephone and fax is available to long term rentals (minimum 3 months). Short term guests will require a wireless modem and have a service provider contract. Otherwise, Internet cafe´s are readily available nearby. The tennis court is somewhat smaller than full size, which is a consideration for those seeking a mainly tennis holiday. There are several nearby facilities offering pay and play tennis, generally on clay or hard courts. Guests can also buy day membership (about 25 euros) at nearby Santa Ponsa golf and country club, and enjoy all the facilities of the club. A daily housekeeping service can be arranged at €15 per hour The property is OK for wheelchair access, , but is far from idea. The main villa is all ground floor but the plot is in an elevated position, with the tennis court, pool terrace and Villa on different levels.

Special Needs

If you have any special needs please raise these when booking. Mobility aids, child buggies and miscellaneous items for holidaymakers can generally be hired locally. Cycles, quad bikes, and motor scooters can be hired locally.

Getting around

You can pick a hire car up from the Airport, saving you the taxi fare to the Villa. A car is only necessary if you want to explore the island and want to be fully independent. The local area of Cala Vinyes has shops and a few bars and restaurants in walking distance. Palma Nova and Magaluf are also in walking distance, as are the waterparks and other attractions. A local bus stops right outside the villa and can take you to the resorts and to Palma. Mallorca is incredibly cyclist friendly. There are cycle paths running around the major resorts and linking the resorts.

Bars and restaurants

You are absolutely spoilt for choice. The local restaurants in Cala Vinyes are average, and you can also eat in the hotel Cala Vinyes. The 'all you can eat' buffets in the Hotels and the Menu del Dia's can be great value'. Try the Hotel Antillas buffet, about €12. per head. About a 5 minute drive, just before the casino, is El Pino's restaurant. German owned, great food. Meson Son Ferrer in Son Ferrer is 10 mins drive and is great food and friendly service, even in peak season. Porto Portals is very popular but pricey and the food and service is variable, the Pizza restaurant is good and very popular with the British. Wellies is popular for people watching. If money no object, try Tristans, eating there is considered the height of decadence. Slightly less glitzy and better value is Port Adriano. For authentic dining try Jacinto's, or one of the other Restaurants in Genova. Some are closed in august.

Golf Information:

Poniente course is within 5 minutes drive. Son Vida, Santa Ponsa, and Bendinat are all between 10-20 mins drive. All excellent. All allow pay and play. Santa Ponsa Country Club does an 'all you can eat' pool side BBQ in Summer (about €12 per adult/ €8 euros children. Open to non guests and non golfers. Also, for a daily charge of €25 you have access to all the facilities of the country club.

'We have enjoyed two weeks of bliss with the kids swimming and playing tennis and basketball every day, while we played excellent golf at several of the local courses'

We loved the authentic Spanish charm of the Villa with its terracotta roof tiling, water well and stables, a real oasis yet with all the amenities of the bustling resorts nearby.
