HOW TO GET TO SITIA:
Sitia domestic airport is connected to the following airports : Athens, Rhodes , Alexandroupolis, Thessaloniki, Kassos, Karpathos and Preveza/Lefkas.
Sitia port is connected to the following ports : Piraeus, Heraklion, Agios Nikolaos and the islands of Milos, Santorini, Kasos, Karpathos and Rhodes, twice a week.
The nearest international airport is Heraklion which is connected with dozens of flights every day to most UK and European airports. A direct bus service from Heraklion airport to Sitia takes 3 hours. For parties of more than 3 persons sharing the cost, it is worth considering hiring a taxi or a self drive car to get to Dionysos in 2 hours

ANTIQUITIES - MUSEUMS : contact us by e mail and we will revert with all details. Zakros Minoan Palace, Toplou Monastery and other ancient sites are nearby.
BEACHES : Itanos, Vai, Hiona, Kouremenos, Maridati, Xirokambos are well known. Vai is calm and suitable for children, Itanos for its remoteness. All beaches are all well documented in the internet.
All beaches except Vai are free for entry.
WINDSURFING : Kouremenos Beach
NIGHTLIFE - in Sitia and Palekastro only. Both are within 15 minutes drive from Dionysos.
WALKING/exploring. Zakros and Chochlakies gorges are located in the area.
EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL - This is what the soil of Sitia is famous for . Local oil repeatedly wins 1st prize in international competitions.
ORGANIC PRODUCE - The vast lands that belong to the Toplou Monastery are cultivated with organic produce which can be tasted and bought when you visit the Monastery. Honey, wines, cheeses, olive oil etc.
