Griffins in the air

Walking and sightseeing N and F Soest, Germany
Review Submitted: May 8, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We spent more than a fortnight in this comfortable house right in the middle of a small mountain village. it was the time of samana santa (Eastern in Spain) and we were quite near the activities during the festivities in this village and especially in the big city of Sevilla. Ronda and its surroundings are worth some visits for sightseeing and walking for hours. Sevilla, Cordoba. Tarifa and Gibraltar are all in easy reach. It was cool, though in April but radiators in the house made our coming home very pleasant. The house is the right place for energetic and enterprising people without the reference to a special age.

With my pregnant wife and 2 year old boy we've spent a marvelous week in this outstanding sceenery. Clean (!) enough rooms and space, a wellequiped kitchen and wonderfull views from the balkony on top of the roof. Good for memorable moments and a relaxing mind. Situated up the hill in a picturesque setting, a 5 minute but simple walk to the pool (see pictures) and reception, in a magnificant white village. For little children not so much to do in the village, but that wasn't our goal, and a bit cold watertemperature in the pool (May). Too bad that my Spanish wasn't that well. I missed a lot of jokes with the locals sitting on benches in the 'plaza'...

Simply perfect!

This house was absolutely wonderful in every respect. Not only was the house immacutely clean and very well equipped (including complimentary wine + soap!), but its location within the village of Montejaque ensured peace and quiet and lovely views over the neighbouring landscape. The village itself provided all the basics needed - enough bars, restaurants and shops. With Ronda only 15 minutes drive away, Seville and Cordoba about 2 hours away and Montejaque itself surrounded by continous stunning scenery, this house and location are ideally suited to those wishing to have an active holiday with the option of complete solitude if need be.

A beautifully presented village house and an ideal base to explore the stunning region, whether spotting griffin vultures soaring above the mountains locally (even from the roof terrace) or day trips to Seville or Granada. The pool is equally pleasant and only three minutes walk from the house. The village has several bars and small shops (no need to find a large supermarket elsewehere) and the office by the pool contains lots of information and internet access.

Silent days in the andalusian mountains

Hoffi and Pit Essen, Germany
Review Submitted: July 5, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We came here for having some relaxing days. And this expectation was completly fullfilled. Due to the fact that it was very hot in June, we did just a few walks. That was a pity, because the surrounding is perfect for very scenic walks. When it was too hot (for us) we just sat down and watched the birds (f. e. eagles). In the evenings we enjoyed silence on the roof terrace. Wonderful as the whole house. We were just two but gives place for 4 people. Just to mention that one sleeping rooms does not have windows which I personally do not like. But the atmosphere of the house in general is very personal and cosy, so that you could feel home away from home. The first days we had some problems with the very narrow streets, but then we decided to leave our car on the town hall place (just 3 min. from the house). Due to the central situation of Montejaque we did some excursions by car (to Ronda 20 min, Costa del Sol 120 min, Cádiz 90 min). But all in all Sevilla stays absolutely unforgetable!
Special thanks we have to say to Jan, who provided us with very helpful information in advance. We felt very welcome from the day of reservation.
