June Break

Date of Stay: June 2009
Stayed in this apartment for 8 days during June 2009 and enjoyed the experience very much. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with all facilities in good working order to make the stay easy to manage. Situated in a typical Spanish village about 10 mins from sea it is easy to switch from the quiet village atmosphere to nearby resorts of Guartamar and Santa Polo. The closest beach is at La Marina which is long clean and provides good safe bathing for all ages. If you want the bigger towns then Alicante and Torrevieca are each about 40 mins away. A hire car is essential to make the most of the attractive locality but buses are available to major destinations. The village of San Fulgencio is a bit like a tardis, difficult to see what it offers from outside, but inside there are excellent shops, restaurants, tapas bars and most facilities, you just need to ask because they are spread out around the village with little indication on the outside to show what they offer. Inside each we were never disappointed. Further out on the hillside above the village there is a large urbanisation (English/German housing estate), within that can be found large well known supermarkets and regular street markets which sell everything at incredible prices Once a week there is a market in the village, well supported by the local community and good for local produce.
There are night clubs close by but we have no experience of them!
All in all we would recommend the property and the local area to anyone with a car and a little initiative.
