Fantastic villa with private pool, BBQ and panoramic views
A gorgeous, newly built stone villa, set in magnificent gardens, with large sweeps of lawn charmingly dotted with flowers and trees, all overlooking a delightful semi rural view of the northern central Majorcan countryside. It has a large shady terrace, and being in an elevated position, is refreshed with balmy cool breezes. At night the lit up church from the neighbouring village lends a romantic, medieval atmosphere. The villa consists of 2 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a well appointed kitchen, with open plan dining and living area, and extra sleeping available on the mezzanine floor over the kitchen. The style of the villa is rustic, with high ceilings and wood beams. The outdoor swimming pool is nestled invitingly in paved stone surroundings, which flow on from the terrace and built-in barbecue, and leads onto the lovely garden area. The villa is a short stroll from the typical Majorcan village of Maria de la Salut, which is well away from the mainstream tourism.

'Far from the madding crowd' would sum up this beautiful villa. It is located on the edge of a small rural village, which thrives on local industry, rather than commercial tourism. Although during the weekdays, there may be some periodic noise emitted from a nearby block works, the very reasonable rental rates easily compensate for this, and the evenings, nights and weekends are wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The village of Maria de la Salut is a 5min walk, and has bakeries, small supermarkets etc. for daily provisions. There is also a regular bus service to neighbouring village, Sineu, 6km away, which is larger and has several good restaurants, and a very popular market every Wednesday morning, which sells everything from antiques to live animals. (Children really enjoy this.) The nearest beach is Ca´n Picafort/Alcudia - a 12km long beach with pristine white sand, about a 15 to 20min drive. Being centrally located, it is not far to almost anywhere on the island.
Local activities diving, swimming, tennis, walking, sailing, cycling, horse riding, golf, wind-surfing, mountain biking

Unspoilt Mallorca
Northern central Mallorca is rural, unspoilt, and untouched by mass tourism. Walk from the villa into the tiny village of Maria de la Salut, and you will only see local Majorcans, giving you a friendly smile as they go about their business. Join them in the evenings as they gather in the village square, old people and young families, enjoying the cool of the evening, for a feeling of stepping back into time. The village has 3 or 4 very good restaurants, where you can sample the excellent local Majorcan cuisine, along with international dishes. In August, there is a night market every Friday night, selling locally made produce. On the last Friday in August, there is a special medieval fair, guaranteeing entertainment for all the family. From the villa is a lovely view right across the low rolling countryside, and in the distance, the jagged hills which enfold Colonia San Pedro, a charming and unspoilt fishing village - also worth a visit for swimming, and panoramic coastal views.
Sineu - neighbouring town
Just 6km away, and with a daily bus service, is the town of Sineu. This is a much larger village, and has a good variety of shopping, bars, cafes, and many excellent restaurants. However, it is best known for its farmer´s market every Wednesday morning. Here, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables, clothing, shoes, and handicrafts, you can find antiques, and a variety of live animals for sale, including sheep, horses, donkeys, chickens, and even puppies and kittens! It makes for a very pleasant morning, and the market winds through the whole town, which in itself is an architectural pleasure. Sineu also connects by train to Inca (famous for shoes and leather produce) and onto Palma, the capital.
