The studio is located in a historical building entirely restored (in and outside) of Alfama, a very romantic and interesting place in Lisbon's centre. This building belongs our family since the 19th century. This studio is very charming, quiet and ideal to two people who want to feel the real traditional Portuguese life. All facilities nearby, as small shops, groceries and bakeries with fresh bread even on Sundays. The studio is very bright with a sleeping area for a couple, a dining area- seating 2, one small equipped kitchen and a shower room. Near underground (100 m), buses, famous 28 tram, train and taxi. Near Panteão Nacional, S. Vicente de Fora Church, Lisbon Cathedral, S. Jorge Castle and «Fado»'s houses.

A studio with a lounge with two beds, a sitting area for two, a shower room, a small kitchen equipped with cooker, oven, fridge, freezer, TV, CD player, electrical coffee machine, toaster, microwave, heater, ventilator, ... It's very bright and cozy. One studio also has an area outside where you can take your meals, take a sunbath and have your own barbecue.

This 19th century completely restored building is located in the heart of Alfama, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Lisbon. Alfama is ideal to know the typical style of Portuguese life. You have some local shops (20 metres away) such as bakeries, grocer's with fresh bread even on Sundays! Near famous monuments: Panteão Nacional, St. Vicente's Church, St. Jorge's Castle and restaurants, with a fantastic view over the ocean. Only 50 metres away you have many museums to see. At night you also have bars, pubs, fado's houses and discos, very close! You can go swimming or sailing in beaches from Carcavelos to Cascais, with very good accesses by train. You can also visit nearby towns such as Sintra and Cascais.

I went to Lisbon for one week with 3 friends in April, we did rent this studio. The quarter is very typical and beautiful, the flat is clean and got a nice outlook over Alfama and the Tagus.
It's next to the city center, 5/10 minutes walking or 2/3 minutes by taxi.
The quarter is calm, quiet, we didn't get problems with the neighbourhood.
I recommand it :)

Great studios to stay in Lisbon

We were fortunate enough to stay in both of these apartments. Both were very comfortable, clean well appointed,(on the cosy side!) but in a lovely position to feel part of Lisbon life. Carla and her Father in Law were most welcoming and accommodating making us feel very much at ease. Alfalma itself is a bit hilly so you need to be prepared to walk a little but the locals were friendly and there are many little shops nearby for supplies as well as restaurants. We enjoyed the views over the rooftops and river from the larger apartment and took in a few glasses of wine sitting out on the patio outside the smaller appartment. Highly recommended - always good to have a home from home for when we return.

Flat in Alfama

The best thing about the flat is its location with stuning vievs.It's clean but rather limited in size: very low celings with small windows just under the roof; "double" bed too small to accomodate the couple, kitchen just good enough to make a cup of tea, bathroom with serious plumbing problems. So if You are a single traveller with a preference for eating out it might just be for You. If You go out in the neighbourhood be careful when visiting a corner grill on R.dos Remedios. Wine and entradas cost tree times a norm and are no better. With no menu it comes as a nasty surprise! Excellend places to eat in Alfama : Parreirinna de S.Vicente and Pateo 13.
