Great location, near to beaches and mountains:
The nearby typically Spanish village of Los Gallardos has several bars, restaurants and tapas bars with local shops such as a bakers, bank, fruit shop, small supermarkets and internet café. It hosts a lively street market every Tuesday morning.
The excellent year round climate makes this a destination for any time of the year. The region of Almeria has the lowest rainfall in Spain. With it's Blue Flag beaches it is unspoiled by tourism - high rise buildings are not permitted.

The picturesque Moorish hilltop town of Majorca is perched at the foot of the Cabrera mountains and has a history going back to medieval times. Full of lovely whitewashed buildings, historic water fountains and narrow cobbled alleyways.
Majorca Playa boasts a coastline miles long with spectacular sandy beaches and beach restaurants serving delicious food. For water sports enthusiasts, excellent activities are available such as water-skiing jet skiing, swimming, fishing, diving, boating and yachting.
The old fishing port of Garrucha, with its own beautiful Blue Flag beach and excellent fish restaurants, is also only a few kilometres away, as is the old fishing village of Villaricos.
The mountain village of Bedar is only a 15 minute drive away and offers a quieter way of life, with several lovely restaurants and stunning views.
The historic town of Vera with its old buildings, extensive Saturday market, bullring, town square and restaurants is only a few kilometres away. It also features the Parque Acuatico in Vera, with slides & water chutes, which is open from the end of May to early September. The sandy beaches of Vera include a naturalist beach for an all-over sun tan!
The Cabo de Gata natural park starts only 20 minutes drive to the south and is characterised by beautiful beaches, secret coves, stunning scenery and small, unspoiled villages. There are also fabulous, empty beaches to the north of Majorca.
Visit Mini-Hollywood in Tabernas where the old film sets remain from the spaghetti western era. Mock 'shoot-outs' are played out for visitors. Look out for the Cuevas de Almanzora cave houses, which are still inhabited, on the way.
Golf:
The four local golf courses include Desert Springs, Europe’s first and only Arizona desert style golf course. There are several other golf courses nearby including Valle Del Este, Cortijo Grande and Marina Golf (in Mojacar Playa).
