The property lies in the northern part of the Lot département, just to the south of the Lot valley. It is readily accessible by road, rail and air with Toulouse, Bordeaux and Bergerac airports only 1¼ to 1¾ hours away.
It is within easy reach of the bustling and vibrant towns of Cahors - Quercy's capital famous for its red wine - Agen, Moissac with its monastery, and a host of smaller towns and villages, many steeped in history from the Hundred Years War. Part of the Midi, the ambiance is very much 'South of France'. The people, like the climate, are exceedingly warm. The house is ideally placed for exploring a wide and varied area of South West France, including the Dordogne, Aveyron and Tarn-et-Garonne as well as the Lot valley itself. There is plenty to see and do - magnificent scenery (Lot Valley, Pech Merle); ancient bastide towns, villages, colourful markets and Romanesque churches (Tournon, Montcuq, St Cirq-Lapopie, Rocamodor, Moissac); caves and châteaux (Padirac, Bonaquil).
