Palm Springs is set in a residential area of Corralejo, this lovely ground floor bungalow apartment at Palm Springs is 1 of 16 on a private complex located on Avenida Fuerteventura. Benefits include a small garden & private entrance as well as a modern fitted kitchen adjoining a spacious lounge, modern bathroom, 2 good-sized bedrooms. To the rear we have a private sun terrace/patio with table, chairs and sun loungers for your enjoyment. The complex boasts a good-sized community pool, which is of a single depth and has showers. From here you are near enough for all the activities & entertainment in Corralejo, yet far enough away for peace & quiet should you so wish. 10-15 mins. walk to town centre, 10-15 mins. walk to the superb National Park sand dunes, 4 mins. walk to the nearest beach, 10 mins from the Water park & 2 mins. to the nearest mini-supermarket. Airport transfers & welcome packs can be arranged & possibly additional apartments on the same complex if required.

Originally a fishing village, Corralejo is approx 35 KM from Puerto del Rosario Airport. Corralejo is the main resort at the North of the island. The town centre lies at the northern tip of a large bay, which has magnificent views overlooking Isla De Lobos and Lanzarote, this bay sweeps south before it meets the vast expanse of sand dunes on the outskirts of town. Corralejo offers a good selection of restaurants, bars, and shops concentrated along the main Avenida. A sandy beach is generally within walking distance. Bike and car hire are available, also bus services to different parts of the island if you do not want to drive. Plenty of tours to take and a regular ferry service to Lanzarote. Certain beaches are popular for surfing, body boarding, kite and windsurfing and lessons are available. Baku Water Park is a 10 min walk where the twice weekly market is also held. El Campanario Shopping Centre is, a 5 min walk, new and has great shops, cafe & a craft market on a Sunday morning.

Corralejo: Corralejo used to be a small fishing harbour village and it has retained the local charm with small winding streets, local shops where great bargains can be found, especially leather goods, linens, lace etc. it has a myriad of restaurants ranging from Spanish Tapas, Italian, Mexican, Steak houses, Chinese, Indian..you will be spoilt for choice! The Main Street is full of duty free shops where you can buy cosmetics, alcohol, cigarettes, electrical goods at great prices etc. There is a wonderful market on Mondays & Fridays where more bargains & gifts can be bought...be sure to bargain for a good price! Music square is definitely worth a visit in the evening. Colourful & lively, surrounded by various restaurants..you can sip Sangria & listen to local Spanish or international music. The Spanish are great for festivals and they have a special square in the old town.

The Fuerteventura region: Fuerteventura is the 2nd largest & the nearest to Africa of the 7 Canary Islands. It has a wonderful warm & hot climate with a breeze all year round so very little humidity. Rainfall is approximately only 5/6 days in the year! Its white sandy beaches are among the very best in Europe, especially just 2km from Corralejo, where you find the beautiful National Park area with miles of unspoilt white sand dunes all around you! The Atlantic Ocean is crystal clear turquoise water, providing a wonderful contrast with the dark volcanic rocks, it attracts surfers from all over the world. It is known as the quieter island of the Canaries, relatively still wild and unspoilt. People just 'fall in love' (as we did!) with it straight away and come back again & again.

How to get there: Cheap flights available from UK airports, Iberia via Madrid. Airflights.co.uk, Thomson, Thomas Cook. Airport 40 mins drive. Return transfers from the airport can be arranged at the time of booking (cheaper than taxi) and car hire is located at the airport. Taxi from airport to apartment 50-70 Euros. Excellent cheap local bus service passes door of apartment every half hour. 3 min walk to nearest beach, 10 min walk to town centre. Taxi 3 Euro from apt to Harbour. Visit Lanzarote (40 min crossing every hour)

The Perfect Getaway

The apartments are fantastic. We have stayed previously at apt. 9. They are really clean, completely spotless and really well equipped with everything you could need. The air-conditioning was a major bonus and made our stay very comfortable. Towels and linen are changed weekly and the housekeeper cleans each room weekly if you stay for two weeks. The beach is a six-minute walk and ten minutes walk into Corralejo Town. We didn't hear any noise from other holidaymakers whist in the apartment complex all week. The pool is great and very large. The poolside area is nice and clean.

Corralejo is great, there is a nice mixture of lively areas and quiet areas. The apartments are in a quiet area, which is great, but only a 10 minute walk from the bars and shops.

There are so many restaurants that it is hard to decide where to go. We didn't have a bad meal once. The best restaurant is Slow Boat 3 (Chinese) just through music square. Next to this restaurant is a very small bar called Blue Rock, very pleasant company & staff. Another bar/restaurant, which we liked, is Rock Café, the live music is brilliant, well worth a visit.

Overall the holiday was fantastic and we would definitely go back to the resort and the apartments. We had a brilliant time and the only downside was that we were only there for two weeks and not three!
