Quinta da Praia is a private Complex with garden, swimming-pools, secure garage and space for cars .. This complex has 3 floors with 6/7 apartments each. It has a lift, from the garage until the top floor. This Ideal 1 bedroom apartment sleeps 4 people, air-conditioning / heating available, located on the 2nd floor at the 'Quinta da Praia' private complex, overlooking the shared pool and gardens ..The Apartment has an open lounge / diner with sofa bed for two persons, and also a hanging Brazilian chair in the lounge. Other facilities include a safe, hair drier, iron and vacuum cleaner, brushes and a heater. The Kitchen has an orange juice machine and a espresso coffee machine. A table and chair set is available for putting out on the balcony for your meals. All around the apartment we have sea views, with the possibility of sun all day long .. The apartment is perfectly situated in the picturesque town of Alvor in the unspoilt western part of Algarve and only 400 metres from the Beach

The Algarve & Alvor: The Algarve has a temperature climate almost all year round and boasts about 300 days of sunshine. Tourist season extends from March to October and it only really quietens down in winter. The wonderful sandy beaches of the Algarve are unspoilt and amongst the best in the world. Explore the majestic Sierra de Monchique or the rugged beauty of the western tip of the Algarve. Water sports such as swimming, snorkeling and big game fishing are popular along this coast when exploring the caves and grottos. Water parks and theme parks are also on hand for the children.

Local Food: The local food just has to be tried, with fresh fish straight from the mornings catch. Most restaurants have charcoal grills, and producing some of the best food of the region. With local wines and mouth watering steaks, what more can you ask for !

Air-Conditioning / Heating Available !: Air-Conditioning / Heating is available in the lounge and bedroom (optional extra 35 euros per week) throughout the year!

Golf: Some of the best Golf Courses in the Algarve are starting from within 3 kms of Alvor :- The 'Penina' Course is Sir Henry Cotton´s masterpiece, and the 'Alto Golf' Course also of the same architect boasts the longest par 5 in Europe. Many other great Golf Courses are within easy reach of Alvor, with the A22 reaching across the Algarve.

My impressions of 'Quinta da Praia'

The amenities of the apartment and services provided together with the most pleasant weather combined to provide us with a very enjoyable holiday.

The colourful decor, its spaciousness, large balcony, atmosphere and situation make this accommodation an ideal holiday location.

The pool area is most attractive with a fine grass surround, large palms and flowering shrubs which add colour to the scene.

One note of discord would be that the safe door had no lock and that one or two of the balcony window door locks did not operate properly.

In conclusion this was a memorable experience which would be readily repeated and is thoroughly recommended

Great Apartment

Excellent location and very well equipped apartment. Sunny balcony for breakfast and lunch. Five minute walk to village center and about the same to the beautiful beaches. Two restaurants and a coffee shop in the block and a small food shop. The number eight bus stop is just outside the apt. and this takes you to the shopping mall where the Continente supermaket is. The weather was lovely.
The only difficulty we had was that when it was very windy it was hard to stop the shutters banging without closing them and blocking out the light. Could have done with a couple more pillowcases. No complaints and a great place.

A very good 4 week holiday . We enjoyed every day

We found everything ok in the apartment.The kichen was suitablefor our daily cooking.The washingmaschine and the bathroom were fine. The beds were excellent.We felt the arrangement was homelike and we enjoyed the sonny balcony and the beautiful garden.- The service was very careful,kind and good.
Alvor is a charming old village,with good shops and restaurants and lots of possibillities for beautiful walkingtours at the ocean and at the river.We plan to return to this place next year.Kind regards

Centrally situated comfortable appartment

The appartment is comfortable and ideally situated for the beach and Alvor's many excellent and varied restaurants. Loved the Brazilian chair which was very comfortable. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the balcony which got the
sun from early morning until mid afternoon.
Only downside was the noise from the restaurant downstairs at night and the fact that the larger of the pools was not in operation.
Would have liked an ironing board as we were there for 2 weeks and used the washing machine a few times.

Good complex/excellent service

Just returned from 10 days at these apartments and catered for most of our needs.
What was missing? An ironing board!!!
Pools and gardens lovely and never more than 10 people there which we loved.
Downside for us - beds uncomfortable and I spent 10 days in agony with sore back.
Also found the road and bar downstairs noisy at night.
I would recommend these apartments if noise doesn't bother you. Ideal location for beach and town.
Thank you Peter for excellent service. Will certainly use Holiday-Rentals again.
