Off Piste Heaven!

Location, Location, Location, this Chinaillon apartment has fantastic views across the village whether it’s first thing in the morning or last thing at night. The apartment has plenty of room for everybody, a great living space with DVD and IPod docking station, well sized bedrooms, and a handy ski locker just outside the front door! Not to mention its ideally positioned for access to the slopes of the Le Grand-Bornand ski area, no waiting for ski buses, just cross the road (50m walk) and strap on your board and its down to the Les Outlays ski lift which gives you instance access to the pistes. The journey home is just as good with a handily placed Piste Bar/Restaurant just above the apartment which offers a welcome stop of for a beer or two!!
The village has everything you need, plenty of ski hire shops, a variety of restaurants and bars to keep you entertained in the evening and a well stocked supermarket if you fancy a night in, all within a 10 minute walk, or two minute drive.
The slopes have something for everyone, nice and easy greens, wide blues, fast reds, non-pisted blacks, one of the best snow-parks and boarder-cross set-ups I’ve seen, and so much off-piste you can ride a different line every time!! Try going off the back of the Les Terres Rouge restaurant, you can always have a glass of Dutch courage before you drop in! We had a dump of powder the week before we arrived and we were still finding fresh stuff the day we left!
If you buy the Aravis ski pass it includes La Clusaz, which is 15 min drive down the mountain or 25 minute ski bus ride from the village. La Clusaz is a bigger ski area and worth a visit just for the highest pistes on the Massif de Balme and the view of Mont Blanc of the back. We preferred Le Grand-Bornand, we found La Clusaz difficult to get around, a bit stop start with some slow green roads in between.
The apartment/resorts is suitable for all types, It had enough to entertain a group of lads for a week, and I wouldn’t think twice about taking the family back there next year! All round it was awesome!
