This truly exotic home, perched high on the western hills of Tortola, was named after the island's first Indian people. Villa Taino bespeaks luxury & comfort in Caribbean & Polynesian style, amid lush gardens and a unique pool. Various terraces offer spectacular panoramic views - by day, the sea below is studded with sailing yachts on the azure waters; at night, the lights of neighboring islands twinkle along with the stars. Peace & privacy allow guests to slip into a relaxed mode from the moment one arrives.
Taino's superbly designed rooms are functional masterpieces of Caribbean living. The wide, circular, open-air living room offers beautiful views that guests enjoy while lounging in large overstuffed couches - there are also reading nooks, conversational corners and garden wall seats. The kitchen is very well equipped, too, whether for preparing a simple meal or a formal gourmet dinner. The dining room, with eclectic decor, seats 8 and opens onto a terrace with a coastal view of picturesque nearby islands. Adjacent to the dining room is an additional study.
The master bedroom suite is steps away from the main building in an Antilles-style cottage with gingerbread trim. Its Old-World charm & comfort blends a mix of antiques, stylized painted floor, and a private balcony overlooking the sea. This balcony invites a delightful nap in the rocking hammock, surrounded by the sweet fragrance of flowering gardens. There are 2 other ensuite bedrooms, equally well decorated, in the upper area of the main house. Each bedroom at Taino has a large walk-in shower.
Taino's terrace opens directly onto the uniquely-shaped pool, with a panorama that is simply breathtaking! The villa is an easy 5-minute drive to Long Bay beach, and less than 10 minutes to the quiet sands of Smugglers Cove. Taino's Belmont Estate location is also great for taking advantage of Tortola's West End, as restaurants, boutiques, watersports & ferries at West End/Sopers Hole may all be reached via a short drive.
For larger parties traveling together, Taino is located just above villa Casa del Sol (RH CAS) on the same road.
The security deposit is $500 (refundable 45 days after departure).
