Cabo Roig holiday house: cabo roig

We visited the house in Sep '09 and thephotos don't really show how great it is. I have lots of good things to say, but mostly the location of the house. Its on a quiet street with other houses, so you dont have loads of noise, but beach is just round the corner and the night life is a 5 min maybe 10 mins (with young ones) away. So many 'extras' we added, I think the owner thought long and hard about there guests. Bar-b-que area, massive hit with the hubby. The information pack was really helpfull, pointed us to the best resturants etc. We headed to a waterpark that was about 1hours drive, but my god was it good, its huge! kinda like disneyland. There is sat. TV which was handy in the early mornings to keep our young happy. And lots of books left by the owner. The pool man comes in early in the morning to ensure pool is kept clean, and they must use something in the pool that is not the norm, as my sons eyes are normally not great after a while in a pool, but the chloraine or whatever is not strong in it. Really its these little things that made it our holiday. I'm trying to think of any negatives but none come to mind. For a family house, this is a bright clean, well equiped house, walking distance to everything, so big thumps up. We would love to come back and have already recommened it to friends

Property was as described, if not better. Clean, nice and cool (Air Con) - all the household appliances you would have at home. 2 Showers, which came in handy for a family of 5. Location is perfect for a holiday home as you are never far from the bars etc.

Swimming pool was good, just a 2 min walk from the house, however, this is the reason I am giving a 4 rating rather than a 5, as the rules of the pool area were never followed.
We witnessed smoking and eating, dinghies, ball games and the same people reserving sun beds day after day. We were informed when we arrived that this was strictly forbidden, but we never saw anyone getting stopped.

Cabo Roig is very non Spanish with most tourists/residents being from Ireland. We found most people to be friendly and didn't witness too much noise.

The bars and restaurants are OK there are lots to choose from, but they are all pretty similar, we found the service to be average, not particularly friendly or attentive. The quality and price of food varied, but overall was disappointing.

Be prepared to be pestered by Vietnamese selling illegal DVD’s there are dozens of them, and after a while it gets very annoying. You will also have to put up with the Africans selling sunglasses, bags and other Tat!

The shops are all pretty good for basic supplies. You can get everything you need for a lunch, fresh baguettes, cheese, ham, bacon etc. These are open all the time.

I would give Cabo Roig 6/10 – It has everything you need, but could be a bit cleaner, a lot of litter about, and it is plagued with illegal sellers. The bars and food are reasonable, but not great. We had a good holiday but would not return, as we have found other parts of Spain to be more suited to our needs.

Overall I would give Vista mar 8/10 - nice house, great location, Clean, could do with a new parasole for the front patio.The only problem was the pool.

My wife and I had a top class holiday here this year. It was recommended to us by a friend and we spent 3 weeks there without hiring a car which was great. We were able to walk to the beach, restaurants, shops and bars. There are 4 grocery stores within walking distance - 2 of them 24 hour. The owner arranged an airport pickup and return. His agent in Spain was a very nice Irish lady who was living locally and looked after us very well.The house is clean, well maintained and well equiped. The nicest thing about the place is that while everything is closeby and convenient, the area is very quiet and peaceful. We would highly recommend the house and location. We will be returning again next year.
