Nearest airport is Girona which Ryan air operate(30 mins from villa) Next is barcelona where easyjet/ryanair are the operators. It is also possible to fly ewith ryan air to Perpignan France,which is the same distance as Barcelona. It is also possible to travel from the french ports of Dover,St Malo,Le Havre etc or the Spanish ports of Santander and Bilbao and take a day to arrive at the villa.

  • There are a total of 4 good size bedrooms. One is situated on the first floor and is serviced by a full bathroom. This room is accessed from the lounge/dining area. The other bedrooms are situated on the ground floor. The bedrooms naturally caters for 8 persons however three of the ground floor bedrooms are large enough to house a cot in addition to the normal beds and one of these has sufficient room for a double bed , cot and a single bed as required. This can be arranged with owner prior to arrival at additional cost.The ground floor bedrooms remain cool in summer. The 3 ground floor bedrooms are serviced by a bathroom/wet room which has a powerful shower area w/c and sink. The whole villa has just had quality aluminum double glazing fitted throughout with 'tilt and turn' fixings to most windows. This quality villa is located in a residential ,quiet, semi rural setting and is ideally suited to family based holidays. It has a 800sq metre secure garden. There are sea and mountain views from the roof terace. There is a choice of the first floor balcony, a roof terrace, garden patio or lounge /dining area in which to dine or relax.There is an 8 x 4 metre swimming pool and spacious surrounding sun patio which is private from the road.The pool is 1 metre depth at the shallow end and deepens to 2 metres .All within 10 minutes drive there is a plethora of coves and beaches or beautiful countryside and walks.Fine cuisine is also available in any of the restaurants/ tapas bars in the surrounding towns and villages.A little further afield is the old city of Girona(30 mins) or Barcelona (60 miles).Also featuring high on the local itinery is a visit to the Salvador Dali Teatre-Museu at Figeres, his home at Port Ligat or Castell de Pubol at La Pera. Winter activities

The rugged Pyrenees mountains are 1 and 1/2 hours drive and is attracting more skiers each year, during the winter months. Baqueira-Beret in the Val d,Aran is one of Spains best ski resorts. Other popular activities around the Pyrenees include mountain climbing ,white water rafting and trekking. The cost implications for ski passes are significantly cheaper than the Alps and other mountain ski slopes situated in the near continent of europe. The principality of Andorra which sits between Catalonia and France is one and a half hours drive away and offers further skiing oppurtunities and breathtaking scenery. Here you can also experience a dip in the mineral waters at the Caldea Spa complex or a drive across the spectacular Port d,Envalira pass,which is the highest in the Pyrenees. There is also good boar hunting and fishing that takes place throughout the rural areas.

Golf around Calonge

There are a selection of 9 good quality golf courses, most within 1/2 an hours drive of this villa.The prices are generally cheaper than the Costa del Sol but are in no way inferior. Local clubs include Club de Golf D,Aro which is 15 minutes,Club de Golf Costa Brava at Santa Cristina.Voted as in top 100 in europe and home of previous spanish open is Golf de Pals around 30 minutes, as is Golf Serres de Pals and the 36 hole Emporda golf club which has a mixture of 9 holes of wooded, links,water hazards and open choices.Around 45 minutes away is the PGA Catalnya which again is of the highest quality and previous home to Spanish open and the Sarazon Open.

Activities and interests all year

Snorkelling and diving. The rockier parts of this coast line lends itself to memorable sights of magnificent underwater flora and fauna. The Illes Medes, off L,Estartit, which is a natural park made up of 7 islets that form the extension into the sea of the Montgri Massif offers arguably, the best diving in all of Spain. From here you can organise snorkelling and diving trips including the hire of all gear. Birdwatching-there is a great concentration of birdlife that gathers in the coastal park of Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l,Emporda. There is a very large network of 370kms of coastal, country and mountain dedicated footpaths, all of which are maintained and sign posted throughout this region.Distances and approximate timings are offered.They embrace the exceptional beauty offered by this area interspersed by unspoilt medieval villages and churches and wonderful places for refreshment.If you prefer to cycle these routes then cycle hire is available from nearby San Antoni.

We have been renting villas/apartments for 7 people and getting there under our own steam for 10 years now starting when the kids ranged from 0 to 12. My wife, I and the "kids" agree however that Villa Suro was the best ever.

It's difficult to single out a specific reason why, but it was a combination of the location, the views, the pool, and the excellent accommodation.

If my wife had her way I would be negotiating to buy it off you right now !!

The information pack that you sent us was spot on and we used many of the restaurants that you recommended. Our particular favourites were La Salsa and the hotel Castell d'Emporda. Having young adults in tow meant that we also enjoyed the Mafia themed El Pardrino pizza restaurant in St Antonio, on the front to the left. However in reality we ate out every night and didn't have a bad meal.

The beaches at La Fosca and Lla Franc were fantastic as was the view from the lighthouse at San Sebastian and the restaurant at Romanya de Selva.

But the best bit was the Villa itself where we spent most of our time lounging by the pool with a book. The views were terrific, the accommodation fantastic, with lots of places for a family of 7 to retreat when they fall out, and re-join to make up or just merely get out of the sun for a few minutes. The beds were excellent quality with proper cotton sheets instead of the cheaper stuff you normally get. The layout of the kitchen, which we used for breakfast every morning was particularly good.

My wife and I enjoyed a leisurely stroll down and back up the track and "Mount Kilimanjaro" every morning to get the fresh bread from the supermarket, whilst the kids slept. It wasn't easy, but it was great exercise.

I really don't have a negative thing to say, and at the moment am currently considering whether we want to book in advance for next year. My only reservation right now is how many of the "kids" will still want to go on holiday with Mum and Dad and/or whether they will want to bring boyfriends/girlfriends.
