Ginestra

Date of Stay: April 2009
Back again to Deiva, earlier this year, and we stayed in Ginestra.
Just as good as Bouganville, but without the extra bedroom.
Being ground floor you tend to want the curtains/nets closed in the evenings just for extra privacy while people are out for a stroll after their evening meal. Not a big problem really.
The washing machine died while on our stay, and was quickly replaced with a brand new one the next day. Excellent fast response.
The car parking facilitiy is different this year, in that you park the car in the main town underground car park about 75-100 meters away.
We never found this to be a problem, even in the rain with a 2 year old in tow, but others may.
One thing I would say is that if you stay here, you must have the foccacia from the mini market just outside your door. Its a fantastic breakfast bread made with olive oil, on the premises by the owners mother, I think! Absolutely delicious, with different toppings or plain. Get there early, when it is fresh out the oven and you will be in heaven.
Again, having stayed here twice, I really can't think of anywhere else I would rather stay in Deiva if you like the freedom of a self catering appartment.
You could probably find somewhere else for less money, but I could guarantee it wouldnt be a nice or as well positioned!
Roll on next year, when we hope to stay during the summer.
