Villa Alba is a spacious, modern, two bedroom villa furnished to a high standard and combining the best of Cretan charm with European quality. Part of a small development of 60 villas, with a shared pool between each 6 villas, the villa is set between the sea and the beautiful mountains of North West Crete. It is an ideal base to take advantage of the 6 km long golden sandy beach that offers safe bathing, parasol/sun beds for hire and beach tavernas. Life guards patrol the beach during the main season. Nearby Lake Kournas, the only fresh water lake on Crete offers boat and pedalo hire and tavernas with exquisite views. The area is also popular for walking and painting holidays. With one double and one twin-bedded room, both with a good range of fitted wardrobes, an upstairs shower room and additional downstairs cloakroom, a well furnished lounge/diner and fully equipped kitchen area,Villa Alba will exceed expectations and provide breathtaking views from the two wide patio terraces

Villa Alba is situated 94km from Heraklion, 30km from Rethymnon and about 30km from Chania. Most flights go into Herkalion but some also go into Chania. Whilst this coastline of Crete provides numerous beaches, harbours and bays in addition to the 6km stretch of safe sandy beach close to the villa, the north west of Crete provides ample activities for non beach days. The three main cities combine history, architecture, shopping and activities- e.g. in Heraklion you can visit the Palace of Knosos and the water fun park, in Rethymon and Chania the Venetian harbours, museums and other historic buildings abound as do the wide range of shops. The Samaria & Impros Gorges reward walkers with spectacular scenery and a range of tours now provide challenging and easier option walks. Close to the villa is Lake Kournas and the town of Georgioupolis with many tavernas (some on the seafront), shops and medical facilities. Cash machines are available at the supermarkets in Kavros & in Georgioupolis

It is dual aspect having french doors leading onto the wide upper level patio area at the front of the villa overlooking the shared pool. The rear windows overlook the countryside. Quality furnishings include a king size bed, bed side tables with lamps, an extensive range of fitted wardrobes, dressing table and mirror. The room is air conditioned ( can be switched to warm in cooler winter months). Hair dryer provided. The bathroom is accessed from the master bedroom. TWIN BEDROOM Situated on the ground floor of the property with the downtairs toilet opposite. This rear aspect room overlooks the beautiful rural countryside and mountains to the rear. Extensive range of fitted wardrobes and mirror. Bedside table and lamp between the beds. Hair dryer provided. This room has air conditioning (can be switched to warm in winter months).

Notes: Please note: a) the washing machine is fitted in the main bathroom on the upper level, the clothes airier is also on the upper level patio, b) there are 4 directors chairs and a patio table (wooden) on the upper sun terrace and six patio chairs and glass topped patio table on the lower patio area- both patios offer stunning views towards the sea and mountains. The lower level patio is now fitted with bamboo screening to the roof to offer some shade. c) the sofa bed can sleep two additional guests by prior arrangement- there is also a coffee table & book shelf in the lounge area, d) An iron and ironing board are provided, e) Kettle & toaster provided f) Beach towels are not provided, g) There is an outdoor open shower by the pool, h) The BBQ is a gas model. i) Whilst the beach is just 5 minutes away by car you can now also walk through the olive groves at the bottom of the villas and cross the road - taking just 7-8 minutes stroll.

We enjoyed a fantastic holiday at Villa Alba in August 2008. The villa itself was exactly as described, it was clean and extremely well equipped, the dishwasher was a real bonus and the gas bbq was excellent for cooking the local fish.

The villa was conveniently situated being approximately 5 minutes drive to Kavos and the beach.

The owners were very helpful.
Owner's Response: Again we thank our guests for taking the time to submit such a favourable review of Villa Alba. The only slight amendment we have since their stay in summer 2008 is that the path from the villas to the beach is now open making it possible to stroll to those 6 kilometres of sand and sea and leave the car behind!

Not easy to find - even more difficult to leave

Top equiped apartment between the sea and the mountains of crete. Ideal starting-point for seightsseeing and good location for relaxing in the evenings and nights.

The property ist clean, the whole housing estate is well-maintained. And the owners customer-service is excellent. So we allready recommended the property to friends.
Owner's Response: We are grateful to our guests for taking the time to complete this review for Villa Alba, but more than that we are delighted that their holiday has met and exceeded expectations. Our welcome pack is comprehensive and carefully prepared so that our guests have the best possible time on holiday and can easily plan sightseeing, eating out etc. We also include step by step directions from both Heraklion and Chania airports because although the villa is close to all amenities it is tucked away in a quiet spot and so could be hard to find. However like our guests we find the hardest part is leaving Villa Alba at the end of each of our visits!

August 07- Home now from a fantastic two weeks in Crete. Your Villa is beautiful, and very well equipped.The welcome pack and instruction on how to find the villa was spot on. We tried out many of the restaurants you suggested. Many thanks again for allowing us to rent your Villa and we hope to return to Crete, and may be back to Villa Alba- Suzanne & Doug
