Photos and Description of this Central Anatolia holiday house Stay in a fairy chimney with stunning views of Goreme from the terrace.

A fully renovated cave house with all mod cons consisting of 2 cave suites, both with double bedroom, en suite shower room and living room, and a central kitchen/dining room. Two extra beds available in each living room. Spectacular views over the Goreme Valley from the large roof terrace. Open fire places in both suites. One of the romantic cave suites is in the fairy chimney which forms one side of the house topped with it's own pigeon house. Quiet location on the edge of Goreme within easy walking distance of the shops, bakery, restaurants and bars. Fly via Istanbul to either Nevsehir or Kayseri, both airports are approx one hour transfer to Goreme, reasonably priced transfers can be arranged through my local agent, as can all local tours, including hot air ballooning, quad biking and traditional craft tours- carpet weaving, pottery making, winery tours and Turkish cookery courses.

Goreme is in the centre of Cappadocia, an area famous for its spectacular scenery and 'fairy chimneys'. The name means 'land of the beautiful horses', you can explore the valleys and pathways on horseback, by quad bike, walking or take the trip of a lifetime in a hot air balloon. The Hittites colonised this region as far back as 1800BC, then it became an area of refuge and shelter for the early Christians during the Roman and Byzantine periods. These early Christians carved out over 300 cave churches and 30 underground cities. Many of these are open for you to explore the subterranean passages and marvel at the paintings of Biblical scenes that have survived the ages. Today, Goreme is a bustling town, where ancient traditions of carpet weaving, farming and hospitality are still an important part of life, and donkeys and carts are a familiar sight in town.

Mel's house was everything we'd hoped for and more. It is clean, spacious, comfortable, very tastfully decorated, well equipped and in a location that would be hard to beat anywhere. Our family loved every minute there, and there was plenty of space to spread out and relax. Staying in a fairy chimney cave house was a unique and unforgttable experience, and having the friendly staff and facilities of the wonderful Kelebek Hotel (who manage it) nearby was a bonus.

Amazing place! We were a party of 4 adults and 16 month old baby, and were extremely comfortable. The views are gorgeous, the house is unique, and all the arrangements were easy! Thank you Melanie! Vita

More beautiful than described. Nice to have washer and kitchen to use. Decor very upscale. Very close to hotel which provides tours, speaks great English, tourist info, and breakfast. Some stairs in unit but only a couple. Showers with big heads and plenty of hot water. A car is a help and parking is just down the street. We bought groceries (tansus) in Nevshire only about 20 kilometers away. There are small groceries in town but selection is limited. Has cd player and TV in one of the living rooms. Gas was very expensive $2.98tl per liter 95 petrol and 2.44+ for diesel. Great baklava at town bakery. one half kilo 10tlira.

This property was described well on the website and was a delight to stay in.It was clean and local cleaners came in daily.We had a car so found it very centrally located.The Kelebek hotel 5 minutes walk away oversees the house and they were very helpful during our time there.It was a highlight on our trip to Cappadocia to have our own fairy chimney house!I highly recommend the property.
