A family group of seven of us had the pleasure of staying at this luxurious and well appointed villa in the beautiful town of Tavira, between 6th and 13th June 2009. All of us would thoroughly recommend a stay here, in a quiet part of town, only 10 to 15 minutes walk from the town centre. We found the owners, Kevin and Sue, to be first class friendly hosts, who left us to our own devices, but were available to us if required, and they just happen to own a bar on the riverside!
The property is large and well equiped, clean and with air conditioning. There are three double bedrooms, and one twin room all with tv, with the master room en-suite. There were shower/bathrooms on two floors.
The roof has a large sun terrace and there is a smaller private sun terrace at the rear of the villa above the private swimming pool, bbq area and pool table.
The kitchen has dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer and a good stock of cutlery crockery pots pans and glasses.
The lounge is spacious, simply but elegantly furnished with a large dining table and huge three piece suite.
For eating out, there are numerous local restaurants, serving local and English food, the best of which in our oppinion were Museum de Vinho and Patio, just off the riverside on the opposite side to the main square/promenade area.
The town is busy but not full of noisy clubs, and families will feel safe even later in the evenings. We found the locals to be extremely friendly with most speaking English. There is a mixture of architecture and local shops stock the usual holiday goods. The road train is a good way to see the town and castle and good value at 3.50euros per adult.
We used the train (Porto Nova station 5mins from the villa) to take a day out in Faro, 4.60euros return, and did the sea criuse and road train at 10euros and 3.50euros respectively.
We can't recommend the villa, town and people of Tavira, and our hosts too highly. 5 stars all round!
