Charming 17th century stone cottage set in the heart of the picturesque and romantic medieval village of Haut-de-Cagnes, within walking distance of the grimaldi castle, gourmet restaurants & cafes. Luxuriously equipped and beautifully decorated, this is a rare find at this price range. lovely sunny garden with stunning panoramic views over the Provencal countryside, town and distant sea view, ideal for eating( all fresco) under our orange trees if you need shade, usually a plentiful supply of oranges from autumn to early spring. French doors lead from the garden to the well furnished kitchen with dishwasher fridge freezer & electric oven with dual fuel hob, this opens to large oak dining table for 6 and sitting area with open fireplace, sofa bed & cloakroom off. First floor large salon/bedroom 2 with Moroccan four poster bed and log effect gas fire. Hill top medieval village in the hinterlands of Nice, Haut-de-Cagnes is a rare find with its romantic maze of pebble paved streets, vaulted passageways, flowered stairways and breathtaking sea views. Combined with its old world charm is a vibrant community with a wealth of fine restaurants. Ideal spot for exploring the surrounding hilltop villages of StPaul, Eze, Mougins ,Vence, Grasse to name but a few or head off down the coast to Antibes, Cannes, St Tropez, Menton, Monaco and the Italian Riviera is about an hour away. No need for a car as you can walk to the beach and the bus and train station are a stroll away. We have at least 10 good restaurants some open all year round to cater for all budgets. Directions to get there: From Nice airport take a 15 minutes taxi ride to the medieval hilltop village of Haut De Cagnes above Cagnes Sur Mer town, cost approx 30 euros .Alternatively take the bus from just outside the airport about 4 euros or rent a car and drive, parking is at the bottom of our road or free on the road itself ,you need a small car as roads around the villages are pretty narrow. Unloading is often possible outside entrance passage. Directions by car: from Nice airport join the motorway west towards Cannes, exit Cagnes Sur Mer and look for the brown signs for Haut De Cagnes bourg medieval, further details and map available on booking. Secure car park available if required within walking distance.

Charming house in suburb quiet street, loved views at night over the town with a glass of wine in hand hard to beat. Haut de cagnes is probably the most magical places I have ever been, we have loved not needing a car and wandering about at night before dining in one of the glorious restaurants, then strolling up to the square for a coffee overlooking that fantastic panorama. The restaurants were really good and we were actually spoilt for choice. You have thought of everything your guests could possibly need and we have had a lovely time in your house, the free bus to the town below was amazing every 15 minutes until late. Great to find a nice big bed with such a fantastic mattress ideal after a long days voyage.

Perfect winter stay

I stayed in Maison Bleue for 6 months from October to March. It was a perfect house, perfect village, perfect weather! The house has everything to make a long stay comfortable. There was plenty of heat, oranges in the garden, cozy furniture, and a great kitchen, Simon and Maura have thought of everything. Haut-de-Cagnes is a magical village. One of the best things about the village during the winter is that even though each restaurants closes for a few weeks or so, they take turns so there are always ones open. And Cagnes-sur-Mer down the hill has a market six days a week for all sorts of fresh food. I didn't have a car and used buses and trains to get everywhere along the Cote d'Azur. There is no shortage of sun in the winter - even on cool days, a walk along the sea with the sun shining is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. I can't recommend this house enough. I have even been back for a few short stays!

As Good as it Sounds!

We had two great weeks at Maison Bleu. As soon as you enter its peaceful garden with its views and then enter the traditional but stylish cottage you could feel life’s stresses disappear! Previous guests and the owners have contributed to a great note book which has a wealth of local information from restaurants, hiring cars and places to visit. We found it a good central location to explore the South Coast which you can do by car or train. The cottage was well equipped. A highlight was breakfast in the sun, looking over the views and the old castle town is great to wander around in the evening. We are planning to go back for our winter break. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
