La Ponderosa is a typical cortijo (country house) located below the mountains of the Sierra Nevada overlooking the Ojo Oscura (dark eye) wetlands. It is a detached house and is surrounded by grape vines and fruit trees, with large patio shaded by vines and a mature fig. The large swimming pool and sunbathing terrace are very private and have beautiful views across the countryside and distant mountains. The sleeping accommodation is made up of one double bedroom and one twin with a shared shower room. There is very good car access and private parking. For the cooler months La Ponderosa has an open fire and room heaters. El Padul is the most northerly village of the beautiful Lecrin valley and is just 10 minutes from Granada and the Alhambra palace and is 40 minutes from the Sierra Nevada ski resort. It has all amenities with a variety of bars and restaurants.

La Ponderosa and El Padul are in a privileged position, close to Granada, the coast (Costa Tropical), the Alpujarra mountains and the beautiful Lecrin Valley (Valle de Lecrin). Visit the coastal resort villages of Salobreña, Almuñecar and La Herradura. Lanjaron the gateway to the stunning Alpujarras is 15km away. The pretty white villages of Pampaneira, Capileira and Trevelez are a must. As part of the renowned Lecrin valley Padul is close to Restabal, Melegís and Saleres that nestle among the orange groves. Sierra Nevada ski resort can be reached in 45 mins. The resort held the 1996 world championships and provides good skiing for all levels. The 18 hole golf course of Santa Clara Golf is just 10 minutes away.
