Our house, La Bacana, is a large open-plan wooden built house in the district of Punta del Este called Rincon del Indio. It is on a quiet and very safe residential street in an area of equally stunning and individual properties, yet only 3 minutes walk to Brava beach on the Atlantic coastline. Ideally located between Punta del Este peninsula and La Barra, it is the perfect rental property for couples, groups and families alike, with everything you need within a short drive. Fully furnished to a very high standard, the house has 2 lounge areas, a dining room, fully fitted kitchen with microwave, washing machine, coffee maker, etc, 1 double bedroom, 2 twin bedrooms and 1 extra bed on open gallery area, 2 bathrooms with showers, large front and back gardens with large outside dining terrace and brick-built barbecue (parrilla). Cable TV (which can be upgraded at any time for extra cost), direct dial phone and internet access (extra cost). Bed linen and bath towels provided.

  Payment can be made in British Pound sterling cheque or by Sterling BACS payment into British bank account or direct payment from your bank in Euros into Spanish bank account.

The Seasons

Punta del Este's high season is from December to March, coinciding with school holidays in Uruguay and neighboring countries. For those seeking a lively atmosphere, nightlife, etc., this is the time to come. Christmas and New Year's Eve are particularly fun, with countless fireworks shows, dancing on the streets by the harbour, and all kinds of parties. Younger crowds flock to Punta del Este mostly in late December and January. In the off-peak season, Punta goes from being crowded and bustling to very quiet at the beginning of March, and stays so through to the end of November. Beach weather starts in mid October and is perfect through the end of April. March and April are comparable to the weather you may find on the Mediterranean coast in September and October, crowds thinner, and children nowhere to be seen. August is the month for whale/seal watching when the whales come to mate within a few metres of the beach.

Further features of La Bacana

The interior of La Bacana has a wonderful open and airy 'through' feel, with an abundance of windows, high ceilings and the open gallery area adding character. This makes it feel extremely cool in the summer (January - March) and warm in the winter (July - September) The wooden walls are painted white and the upstairs flooring and ceilings are in solid, dark wood giving the whole house a classy, colonial-American feel with soft furnishings in classic Ralph Lauren style. However, it is very family-friendly and cosy at the same time. Very large front garden and driveway with space for 3 or 4 cars. Large fenced and tree-bound back garden with enclosed clothes-drying area and sun-bathing terrace in front. French doors from the main lounge that open out onto a large terracotta-tiled outdoor dining terrace, with table and 9 chairs. Brick built barbecue (parrilla) with grate, serving area and sink.
