Spacious, light-filled, 3-bedroom self-catering apartment available for short and long term rental in the village of Vicedo, Galicia in northwestern Spain. On the top two floors of an elegant new four story building, it has great views of the village and surrounding area. Set in an inlet, the water is calm and perfect for children, for swimming and for kayaking. Three beautiful sandy beaches within easy walking distance of the apartment (5 mins, 5 mins, 15 mins) plus dozens more to explore within short driving distance. Kayaks and canoes can be rented for exploring the bay, the river, or the sea. Plenty of walking in coastal and wooded areas and along the river, quiet country roads for biking and fishing off the pier. Village has its own restaurants, bars, bakery, fishmonger, small supermarkets, and there are plenty more excellent seafood restaurants nearby. Fifteen minutes away is the beautiful old town of Viveiro with an open air market, many shops and other amenities.

This rental apartment is a perfect place from which to explore the beautiful northwestern coast of Spain, with its many unique fishing villages, unspoilt, clean beaches and world-renowned seafood. Also it is only two hours' picturesque drive from Galicia's capital, the beautiful old city and pilgrimage center of Santiago de Compostela. Local fiestas of interest take place throughout the year. Very cheap flights are often available on Easy Jet to Asturias. Asturias airport, which serves the delightful old city of Oviedo, is small and extremely traveler-friendly: car rental is speedy, finding your way to the road you need is simple and you can be on your way in a matter of minutes after arrival. The two-hour drive between the airport and the village of Vicedo, full of spectacular views of the sea, is a pleasure in itself, and Oviedo itself is well worth a visit. Alternatively, you can fly to Santiago de Compostela, another small airport, also two hours away from Vicedo

  • There is one full bathroom on each floor, each with a bath with shower. Both bathrooms are brand new and very nice. There is plenty of hot water. Towels and bath mats are provided.

    Bedroom 2 - 2 Single Bed, can be put together to form a double bed

  • One bedroom is downstairs (on the third floor of the building). This room has a double bed. One wall is all windows and there is a view of the village and fields. It has its own full bathroom. Ample hanging and storage space in double fitted wardrobe. The other two bedrooms are upstairs (on the fourth floor of the building) and share a full bathroom with bath, shower and bidet. They both have attractive pine ceilings, and one has a huge skylight window that opens. Both have fitted wardrobes with ample storage space. Both have twin beds which can easily be put together to form a large double bed, and there is double bed linen for this use. One is a very large room which is idea for children and could accommodate at least two more on air mattresses or something similar.

Notes: The kitchen is separate from the living room and is fully equipped, including brand new appliances - dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with freezer and cooker with grill, vitro ceramic stove top and extractor fan. There is plenty of free parking available on the street below. The entrance way to the building is elegant and clean, and there is an elevator to reach the third floor. A woman from the village will come and clean and / or do laundry upon request (extra cost). There is a separate area off the kitchen with a rack for drying clothes, and an iron and ironing board in one of the bedrooms Free internet facilities are available in the village library, which is in the next street and computers are almost always available.

Very nice apartment. The photos do not do it justice. Apartment, building and town are immaculately clean. Good security for the building, street parking at no additional charge. Grocery shopping in village. The owner was very nice and made the entire transaction easy.

The location is truely fanatastic, great beaches, lovely small villages.
The property is immaculate and we would recommend it to any one wanting a non-costa holiday!

We would go again

The apartment in Vicedo is nice, it is clean well furnished and maintained. The village of Vicedo is a "interesting" place with it's mixture of modern and old ( some very) buildings. It is a very quite place, (wonderfull) more than 2 cars in a line constituted a traffic jam !, . The area is so peacefull, there are many beaches and coves to explore, the sea is so clear and un-poluted, and very safe to swim in. We took the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander, the drive to Vicedo, about 4/5 hours is quite busy with motorway construction traffic. The Spanish lady who looks after the apartment, Lolita is lovely and nothing is to much trouble for her.

There is a small tourist office in Vicedo, and the Lady who runs it is very helpfull and speaks good English.

Booking the apartment is hastle free

Lovely Apartment for Couples/Family

Lovely apartment in a modern block, a good size for 4 adults and well equipped. Only negatives were a squeaky double bed and the oven which had been left unleaned after spillage by a previous occupant.
Pleasant village in good overall location with friendly bars and good local tapas. Beaches quiet and clean and with impressive scenery.
We spent a week there without needing to go very far afield (eg less than 20 miles) to visit other towns & attractions (eg lighthouse at Bares), though if you are in this area it's an absolute must to visit Santiago de Compostela. It's 2 hours away and well worth a visit.
