Minho & Costa Verde holiday cottage

The Mill was in a quiet village location close to the delightful town of Viana do Costello. This area of Portugal we have not visited before and we fell in love with its huge variety of landscapes :dramatic seas, relaxing rivers and 'lakes' and the traditional fun and excitment of the local fiestas
The mill was well maintained with clean, good quality traditional sheets and towels. The swiming pool is for guest use only and we found it a perfect relaxing place to unwind after a day's sightseeing , it was here we saw several unusual birds, one example we found to be a Hoopoe (after looking it up on the internet).
The owners were discrete and left us to our own devises, unless we required any advise, which was given readily.
There was only one downside, as far as we were concerned and that was the lack of air conditioning. For the first week this was not a problem but when the weather 'hotted up' and despite having an electric fan in the bedroom, sleeping became difficult.
Other than that we had an very enjoyable holiday and looking forward to returning to the area soon.

The mill was just as described, Ideal for what we required, very central for visiting northern Portugal. The mill was clean and modestly equipped. the setting was superb and the owners really helpful and lovely people. they respected our privacy but were there if needed. The pool was excellent and clean.

We would definately recommend this accomodation to anyone wanting to visit this area of Portugal, which we found to be fantastic, beautiful surroundings and people, very friendly and welcoming. lots to do and see.
