A perfect place to relax.

Agusia Wrocław, Poland
Review Submitted: July 30, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We spent a week at villa Serenity (July 2008). It was a perfect place for our family (parents & 2 teenage daughters).
The villa is very quiet, as well as the surroundings. It's a bit far fom the centre of the village, the beach and all the restaurants - about 15 minute walk - but it was ok for us. Instead, you get maximum privacy and can enjoy the nice views of the sea and mountains sitting on the terrace and not being disturbed by anything.
The house is very well equipped with everything you need. Apart from all the things listed in the description, it was nice to find in the kitchen some teabags, coffee, juice, milk and bisquits prepared for us. Also some dishwasher tablets, washing powder etc. were provided. These little things are not guarranted in the contract, but just make life easier for the guests upon arrival.
There are plenty of towels (even beach towels) and they are changed once a week, on the "cleaning day".
The British couple, Jen and Rod, are looking after the house and they are very nice and helpful.
Stoupa is a beautiful, small village with quite a few tavernas and cafes (but no discos and night clubs), along the nice beach with clear and warm water, great for swimming.
I recommend to rent a car and explore the Mani peninsula. It's really fascinating. But you have to be an experienced driver, as most of the roads leads through the (beautiful)mountains. The views are breathtaking. We went to Monemvasia (about 150 km), which is really worth seeing. We also went to Kalamata (40 km), a busy city, not very beautiful, but with nice athmosphere, nice people, shops and cafes.
We mainly ate at home, (there are two supermarkets close by), but we tried couple of restaurants near the beach and they were fine.

I would recommend Serenity villa to everybody who wants to get to know Mani - one of the most beautiful regions in Greece. It's a perfect base for it.

Owner's Response: Thank you for making Villa Serenity the base for your week in Stoupa, we’re glad that you've really enjoyed yourselves and hope you’ll return again in the coming years, your very welcome!

Visitors have noted how Kalamata is not a typical Greek city, especially when compared to Stoupa and other villages only a short distance away, the reason for this is down to a major earthquake in 1986, the city was devastated by the quake and following its regeneration Kalamata is now a fairly modern city. I have to say however that many of the cafe’s sell fantastic fresh donuts!

Villa Serenity, August 2009

Review Submitted: November 1, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We spent a week at villa Serenity (August 2009). It was a perfect place for our family (parents & 2 little boys of 3 and 8). The location is easy to find with the description and map given by the British owner, always very helpful like the couple, Jen and Rod, who are looking after the house and who are really nice. The villa is very quiet, as well as the surroundings. It's a bit far fom the centre of the village, the beach and all the restaurants - about 15 minute walk - but it was ok for us (and we had our car when needed).

The house is modern, very clean and well maintained and equipped with good facilities and everything you need. The children and us very much appreciated the huge inflatable pool in the garden ! You can enjoy nice views of the sea and mountains sitting on the terrace or on the balcony. There are plenty of towels (even beach towels which is nice when you travel with children and already a lot of luggage...) and they are changed once a week, on the "cleaning day".

Stoupa is a small and nice village with quite a few tavernas and cafes, along the 2 nice beaches with clear and warm water, great for swimming. We tried couple of tavernas near the beach and they were fine. There are two supermarkets close by and an excellent bakery just five minutes away.

We recommend to explore the whole Mani peninsula (by car) which is beautiful and fascinating. Views are breathtaking. If you have time, some other places of the south Peloponnese like: Koroni, Methoni, Voidokilia Bay on the first peninsular are well worth.

We would recommend Serenity villa to everybody (couple and family) who wants to get to know Mani and the south of the Peloponnese.

What can we say apart from fantastic! It really is what it says and delivers even more.....modern, good facilities, clean, well maintained. We have recommended the villa to our friends because we are confident that they will enjoy it as much as we did. Rod & Jen who greet you are great and are able to help whenever they are needed.. I really cannot fault the property, service, help received for any aspect of our stay. It does what it says on the tin!!

Stoupa is still the quaint village we visited 14 years ago - a little busy now but thats to be expected. Still no disco's or karaoke which was ok by us.

Planning to return in 2010 - it was that good!

Villa Serenity

Review Submitted: July 8, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We stayed here at the end of June and had a really lovely holiday. Rod and Jen who greeted us when we arrived were very helpful and always available for advice. The villa was clean and tidy and very spacious and in a very quiet location. We hired a car but the village was only about 15 mins walk with an excellent bakery just five minutes away. The facilities were excellent with beach towels provided, toaster, washing machine, hairdryer and air conditioning, etc. Lovely garden with patio and sun loungers and a large balcony upstairs leading off the kitchen/dining area. We very much appreciated the huge inflatable pool in the garden as the first week was exceptionally hot for June. We ate out each evening and there are certainly enough tavernas to try a different one each evening. The area around Stoupa is very pretty and certainly worth exploring. Voidakoila Bay on the first peninsular is well worth a visit a huge horseshoe beach very beautiful indeed and very quiet when we were there with a nature reserve behind it. We would certainly recommend this property to friends and hope to return ourselves in the not too distant future.
