La Gavina is a stylish semi-detached house with a 3000sq meter garden shaded by helm oaks and cork oaks. It is located in Baia d'Argento, a mere 2km away from the white sandy stretch of the Sabaudia beach, with its crystal clear waters, and overlooked by the green slopes of Monte Circeo. The house is fully furnished and includes a modern kitchen with fridge, dishwasher and gas cooker, a living/dining room with stone fireplace and cotto floor, two bathrooms with handmade Vietri tiles and three bedrooms with antique furniture which can accommodate up to six people. Outdoor dinners can be enjoyed under two gazebos. Nearby areas of outstanding natural beauty include the lakes of Paola and Caprolace and the Monte Circeo (542m) whose top can be reached with a well-marked path. The area features also archaeological remains of roman Villas (including one once belonging to emperor Domitianus). Escapes to Sperlonga and to the Pontine Islands (Ponza, Palmarola, Ventotene) are also possible.

Enjoyable holiday: La Gavina will provide for a quiet holiday, yet with plenty of activity to be found nearby. For nature lovers there will be plenty to do and enjoy, from hikes through the unspoilt coastal woodlands to walks on top of the Mount Circeo. Archeology enthusiasts too will find plenty to enjoy, as the area is disseminated with remnants of a splendid past, when roman emperors chose the area as their buen retiro to escape the turbulence and pitfalls of the Eternal City.

Italian Cuisine: Italian cuisine is world famous, and the restaurants located in the area near La Gavina showcase a whole array of specialties, including spaghetti with clams and seafood, grilled sea bass, pizza (the real one!!). And during Summer, you can even enjoy the traditional 'Bomba alla crema' (fried sweet pastry stuffed with custard) till midnight!!

More Escapes: If you are not afraid to drive for a couple of hours (but you can go there by train too, it takes even less), you can enjoy a trip to two of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the world: Rome and Naples, with their innumerable monuments and artistic masterpieces, heritage of a millinery culture. And to get an even more poignant sense of history, you can't miss Hercolaneum and Pompeii, near Naples, or Ostia Antica, near Rome, perhaps the most extended sets of ancient world city ruins on the planet.
