Openshaw is only 5minutes walk from the Abbeywood station and is close to Woolwich Arsenal, Plumstead and North Greenwich Stations. Openshaw Lodge is situated in Abbeywood close to shops, and local amenities. Abbeywood is in Historic Greenwich where many tourist attractions exist e.g. Maritime Museum, The Royal Observatory, Royal Artillery, Blue Water/ Lakeside shopping centres, Charlton shopping Centre, millennium Dome(O2), DAVID BECKAM FOOTBALL ACADEMY, Royal Arsenal, Royal Naval College Greenwich Park and The Cutty Sark, Greenwich mean time to mention a few. There are loads of pubs and restaurants are within easy reach as well as the markets(Woolwich, Greenwich, and Deptford Markets to mention a few) which sell antiques, second-hand clothes and lots more. There is a river bus which travels along the Thames from Greenwich Pier (which is 2 Miles away) to the Tower of London and Westminster. 20 minutes from the centre of London via British Rail, 2 trains per hour, The London Marathon starts in Greenwich. The Tour de France will be coming through Greenwich this year, 2007.
