Marrakech holiday apartment "Palazio Gueliz" in MARRAKECH

Very good location as it's close to many restaurants. Apartment is ok everything works, but furniture needs updating, and an old carpet in the lounge is well passed it's sell by date. Could not clean it as the vacuum cleaner had no suction power so retains dust which is not good for asthma sufferers like myself. There was no PC or broadband internet as per advert. The agent there, Monir, arranged a USB modem but it was very slow at about 20kbps. So if you work on your PC as I do, you will have trouble as the speed is not suitable for anything other than checking email, but if you only need to check email it's fine. Monir is very helpful and always contactable.
If the apartment received a little updating, and ADSL, and that old carpet was ditched, I would probably stay again. The agent told me it was going to be updated soon. I would recommend putting an A/C unit in the bedroom in addition to the one in the lounge for the summer though, but for this time of year it was not necessary.
Cam and Monir are nice guys and I'm sure would try to accommodate any requests.

I just came back from a 16 day stay in Marrakech and some treks outbound, and I am stunned by how great it all went. This apartment was all that was advertised--and more; it was truly a wonderful place to call home for a couple of weeks. It is perfectly situated, loaded with every feature a traveler could want within easy walking distance, and is so comfortable that you breathe a sigh of relief when you walk in. Camran was absolutely a pleasure to deal with--so friendly and straightforward from the booking process through the stay itself. His colleague Monir is a funny and extremely competent local contact, and both are readily available if you should need anything at all. Between the two of them, you are in absolutely safe hands, and again, the process from booking to picking up the keys is so simple that I owe Camran an immense debt of gratitude for that alone. To get such a wonderful apartment with no troubles--in light of Royal Air Maroc's temporary loss of my luggage--was the best medicine for a temporarily sticky situation. If I could give this review 6 out of 5 stars, I would. The advertisement is understatement, and the flat is just a great place for one or two people to really unwind, especially after summer temps have soared to the 45 degree mark and beyond. I recommend this flat enthusiastically; to anyone harboring the thought of renting it--just do it! You won't be the least bit sorry! It has all the modern amenities one needs, a great locale to be set in, and best of all, GOOD people in charge. I would certainly return again, and I hope that others will make use of the flat and all the good times it brings with it. Thank you, Camran, for all your kindness and attention to detail--you've made a lifelong dream come true, and you are a true gentleman.

Very nice apartment, it had all the neceassry appliances/equipment, the PC with internet access was very good.
Camran was very helpful, although not in Morroco but still contactable, same as his friend/colleagure Monir who was in Fes at that time but still helped out with a few enquiries.
The apartment is near Medina, takes 20 mins by walk, by taxi 5mins (approx. 10 dirhams), by bus <10mins (3.5 dirhams). It is close to local shops and restaurants as well as the main supermaket (Acima).
I would highly recommend this apartment.
