The location is great, right next to the beach, but not on it as the advert states. The photo shows the dunes which are protected and not allowed on.
The property is fine, with a new kitchen. The rest of the appartment could do with some updating and finishing.
Melanie was very friendly and helpful.
The advert states a 'private pool' this is in fact shared with many others and is quite small.
The beaches are very well looked after with lots of local police and lifeguards.
We would recommend this area but point out the nearness of lots of other appartments which may contain less respectful holiday makers, as our above neighbours were. Very noisy!
Great area for a beach, surfing holiday.
Owner's Response: In general we are pleased with this feedback and would like to take this opportunity to confirm a few details.
To confirm, our property is on the sand dunes of Capbreton beach, ie there is nothing between us and the waters edge, no road, no cars and no people. We have a 50metres reserve between our private garden area and the beach strip, which has been recently and positively declared as an eco-reserve - this means that we can't go on it and nor can anybody else, which makes for a great sense of privacy. We are very grateful for the protection of the dunes.
To confirm, the pool is a private communal pool, shared by the residents, ie it is used only by the people staying in our resident villas. It is clean, contains a full-sized adult pool and children's pool, with surrounding safety fence.
To confirm, the apartment kitchen is newly-renovated and the apartment freshly painted, clean and charming.
Summer is a very popular time, attracting all sorts of people from all over Europe and normally very popular amongst families wanting to take advantage of the close beach proximity or young adults interested in a surf retreat.

Lovely location, great contact with the owner

Generally, everything what has already been written in the reviews above is correct, although what can be an advantage for one is a disadvantage for another...

-The pool was small but very clean.
-There is some issue with the BBQ which I don't understand (you can use only electric- sorry for the bills;))
-In Capbreton, you are not allowed to take dogs on the beach (even on the lead)

-The appt was cleaned for our arrival but it is not very well-maintained. I understand one is not always ready for a big renovation, but changing the mushy shower curtain, fixing the sliding door or a little arrangement of the garden wouldn't be costly. It would give more "tidy impression".

I would recommend this to my friends under the condition that the appt would have been fully renovated.

Quiet, funky place beachside

Spent a week here in May: awesome to be literally on the beach with garden space for BBqs. Also fully appreciated the funky decor which made a welcome change to the often staid rental interiors. This place had colourful throws and paintings and lovely linen.

Perfectly placed to access Cap Breton and surrounds plus literally 2 steps to good surfing/swimming beach.

On the beach bliss

We spent a week at this Capbreton Villa. You cannot beat a 100 metre stroll across the dunes to hit a fantastic beach.

It is the beginning of a long natural beach backed by dunes. In the other direction there are some great little cafes and bars over looking 2 small beaches. Further along is the Marina with a mixture of yachts and fishing boats passing in and out to the ocean.
All within 5 mins stroll.

The old town center is about a 10 min walk Inland. Completely local and charming, situated on a canal.

All combined it provided us with a lot of variation all within walking distance. It gave us a really relaxing holiday.

Its a great surf spot too.

I want to go back soon.

excellent, beachside property

A clean, newly decorated and refurbished property 2mins walk from the surfing beaches at Capbreton. Easy walk to local shops,numerous restaurants,yacht marina and fish market with the town centre and local market a little further.

The villa is well managed by the delightful Melanie who speaks english and is very helpful. A basket of fruit and bottle of wine were nice touches on arrival. The new swing seat was a big hit!

The area provides excellent diversions for those non surfers! A day trip to Spain or a drive into the Pyranees with a ride on a mountain train - to name but two.

In the end the beach was the greatest draw - beautiful and clean with lifeguards, and close enough to return home for lunch and a siesta. Watch our for the waves though if just paddling!

Oh! and, of course, watching the sun go down from the terrace of a beach bar! Perfect end to a perfect day!
