Val Thorens holiday apartment

Hi,

We were 4 guys staying in this apartment. It is in a great location once you work out how to ski in and out! The price was superb especially shared by 4 of us. The apartment is in great condition and nice decor and furnished well.

Notes for people sharing this apartment with 4 - If you shower twice a day don't run the water out! Shower did leak a tiny bit couldn't work out why. The pull out bed has legs. We didn't work this out hilariously.

On another note the sky box didn't hardly get a signal whilst we were there due to the weather so not worth bringing your sky card up the mountain for. Massive DVD selection though, and books, and some CDs. People have left stuff over the months I guess. We left loads of food and beer for the next people that we didn't get round to using, you should all do the same.

So all in all - Great apartment for the location, the price, and the state of it. Slightly cramped if 4 people do share it but not overly so. Views from the room pretty good. Heaters are good but not really needed. Lighting is good. Furniture, cooker and dishwasher all good.

Highly recommended.

Sadly we had 1 day snowed off as it was a near white out with high winds. Val Thorens is a great place, but the weather really does come in quickly so be prepared for a race down the mountain before you miss your lifts.

Cost of a cab from Les Menuires to Val Thorens if you miss the last lift of the day is about €25 as opposed to the overly expensive bus.

MUST ski Meribel tree runs and the day trip to Courcheval and back.

We're not long back from a week in Val Thorens staying in Philip and Helen's apartment where we had a great time!

The photos on the website look great but don't do it justice... once there you won't be disappointed! The apartment is exactly what you need for a very comfortable and convenient stay in Val Thorens with skiing to and from your door and a few minutes walk to all the shops and facilities of the village. Having been on many ski holidays before and always staying in self catering apartments, this was by far the best quality and value for money accommodation I've been in! What's more, this is the first ski apartment in France I've stayed in with a proper shower!

The ski locker door is a 30 sec walk from the top of the Cairn gondola which was great for the end of the day! The apartment was very quiet in the evenings and very cosey too... we didn't need the heating on at all while we were there. The balcony is sunny and great for sitting out on with a wee glass of wine after a hard day... generally we couldn't fault it at all. A real home from home which you don't get with your standard package deals.

I must whilst there is the toboggan run!! Great fun but expect to get snow everywhere... up your sleeves, down your back and if you scream (like I did!) your mouth tends to get filled up too especially if you put your feet out of the sledge to try and stop!

If we return to Val Thorens, Philip and Helen will be the first stop in my search for accommodation. I'd highly recommend it to anyone!
