Rodney Bay holiday villa

(continued) St Lucia is a very beautiful island and we particularly enjoyed exploring Pigeon Island and eating at the Jambe du Bois restaurant on the beach. The trip to the Pitons and Tet Paul nature trail was just breathtaking. We loved the botanical gardens and snorkelling below the Pitons and at a Marine Nature Reserve. We also enjoyed ziplining and swimming under a waterfall. Just writing this makes us wish we were back there. We would highly recommend SunWest Villas. Thank you very much Greg for making our stay in St Lucia such a wonderful experience!

We stayed with Greg at SunWest Villas in St Lucia for 9 days in August 2011 with our two children, aged 11 and 6. When we were still deciding where to go, Greg responded quickly to an email enquiry and called us at home in England. He gave us lots of really helpful advice about where to stay and what we could do in St Lucia. When we arrived, he picked us up at the airport and drove us round the island to the villa, stopping off to show us a wonderful sea view, then at a bakery to get a snack and finally at the supermarket so we could pick up some food. This was very thoughtful and really helped us to settle in and look forward to our holiday. The villa was lovely, a unique design including a balcony with views of the surrounding hills and out to sea, and surrounded by lovely gardens with banana plants, lobster claw, hibiscus and other tropical plants. We were also delighted as Greg had given us more space, which meant the children had a room each and we had the floor above. The apartment was nicely decorated, clean and had plenty of space for sitting and relaxing. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was even a vase of tropical flowers from the garden on the table. We used the pool almost every day and we shared it with several locals: a large toad, a huge crab and a tiny gecko. The sound of the tiny tree frogs each night was a delight.

Greg was an amazing source of information about the island and this really added so much to our holiday. He spent time telling us about the geography of the island and places to visit and gave us a free orientation tour during which he recommended restaurants, etc. He also took us on two fascinating tours of the island, showing us the most beautiful scenery and beaches with nobody else there - places we would never have found on our own. The provision of a mobile phone was very useful as we could call Greg or a local taxi firm to pick us up. We hired a car for part of the week so we could explore further on our own and go back to some of the places he had shown us.

First trip to St Lucia after several visits to other West Indian Islands. Very impressed with the island and the accomodation at Rodney Bay. Greg was extremely helpful, even when we added extra guests at the last minute. We were collected from the airport and given great orientation tour by Greg. Loved the local Reduit beach and the Marina. Both walking distance from the house, we did usually phone Greg for a lift home up the hill. Had great meals at Spinnakers and Delirius. Also sampled good bars, Ann-Marie's on the beach, Happy Days and Rehab! Also experinced the Jump Up at Gros Islet on the Friday evening. Would thoroughly recommend to friends and hope to return one day.
