Set on a hill in rolling countryside of pastures and woodlands, Les Rousseaux is the perfect spot for relaxing by your private pool or enjoying a barbecue in the flower-filled courtyard. Tables and chairs for outdoor eating on the lawn or by the pool. The large gourmet kitchen/dining room, spacious book-filled living room with its TV, DVD and CD player and three comfortable bedrooms will enchant you after a day's sightseeing, wine-tasting or browsing through the area's numerous markets and antiques fairs. Les Rousseaux is the ideal base for exploring the vineyards from the Cote d'Or to the Beaujolais, the numerous castles and chateaux of Southern Burgundy, Taizé, Cluny and the magnificent Romanesque churches of Tournus and Paray-le Monial. Bike riding, horse riding, hiking, golf and tennis are all available nearby. Excellent central heating and a cosy wood-burning stove make this a wonderful destination summer and winter alike!

This 19th century farmhouse and barn has been artfully transformed into a spacious house with a pool, enjoying perfect exposure and lovely views across the valley of woods, hedgerows and pastures dotted with white Charolais cows. You will enjoy discovering the chateaux and castles of Southern Burgundy, wine tasting in the vineyards from the Cote d'Or to the Beaujolais, buying local cheeses in the farmers' markets in Cluny and surrounding towns, browsing through the weekly antiques fairs or visiting Romanesque chapels and the churches of Tournus and Paray le Monial. Have fun bike riding, horse riding, fishing or playing tennis or golf in this sunny part of Burgundy. Bird-watchers will love our nature trails and France's largest ornithological park in nearby Les Dombes. The Taizé Community is a 20 minute drive away. Gourmets and gourmands can make trips to Beaune, Dijon, Lyon, Roanne, Vonnas and Chagny to experience the cuisine of some of France's greatest chefs.

This property is amazing. It is huge and beautifully furnished and decorated with a great pool. We spent a week here with family and it was idyllic. Great for relaxing if you do not feel like doing much, but lots of interesting places nearby if you want to get out and about. Definately need a car though! The kitchen is fully equipped, so you can buy your fresh produce from the local market and cook up a French feast at home. Highly recommended.

We've been going on gite holidays for over 20 years and this was by far the best. The description was very accurate indeed although the photographs could not give the place justice. The property was scrupulously clean and well maintained. Mia, who looked after the gite, was extremely helpful and solicitous - the composite host. I would definitely recommend this gite to others. The kitchen area was bliss. The assortment of books was very inviting. We loved the pool but most we liked the rural isolation. One point - there are quite a lot of stairs for people with limited mobility. We're not fond of returning to places on holiday but are seriously considering a return visit here. Superb!
