Photos and Description of this Manche holiday house A 1 bedroomed gite with bathroom, 2 WC and living room & comfortably furnished

Our gite is situated in Le Neufbourg village (with a bakery & bistro a 2 minute walk from the front door) and overlooking the beautiful Abbey Blanche which you may wander around freely. We are in the heart of bocage walking country and a 5 minute stroll from the spectacular Grande Cascade (waterfall). The Mont St Michel & the Bayeux Tapestry are a 45 min drive away & the Allied Landing beaches a 1 hour drive (if you are feeling energetic there is a great cycle path that runs direct to the Mont St Michel 54kms away!). There are local markets everyday in the surrounding villages & towns where fresh local produce can be bought & our local supermarket is a 5 min drive away. Mortain town is a 10 min walk & here one can find various shops, banks, restaurants & bars, an open air swimming pool & English newspapers. There is a tennis court 200m from the gite & go karting at 500m. Whether you are looking for an active holiday or something more relaxing (sunbeds on our lawn!) its all here.

Comfortable and well maintained gité

Really pleased to find this gem on the outskirts of Mortain. Nice quiet location and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very comfortable and well stocked with equipment. Plenty of walks in the vicinity and a cycle route passes close by; visit the local tourist office for more information.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: After our first guests have visited we now know that we have achieved our goal of a great holiday gite in France. We are looking forward to all our future guests enjoying their holidays & will soon have our second, 3 double bedroomed gite with outside jacuzzi & beautiful views of the Abbey Blanche, finished to the same high standards as our smaller gite.

Exactly what we wanted

Our first time in a gite and what a great success it was. The accommodation was perfect for the two of us and Charlie, our Westie. It has its own small private garden and is part of a more extensive one that surrounds the properties. There are various garden areas where you are welcome to roam or sit and relax.The gite was lovely & clean and well equipped. It had absolutely everything we needed & Amanda ensured that our food needs on arrival were already in place - to the extent that she provided a superb welcome meal on our first night! Amanda did an excellent job of providing local information and hints'n'tips for places to visit etc.without being intrusive.
The village is quiet but within easy reach of many of the key towns, villages, countryside that makes the area so appealing. The local walks are interesting, there is an extensive cycle route (not that we did any of that !) and the abbey is breathtaking. The local markets are great. We were fortunate to have brilliant weather and decided to BBQ a couple of nights (not something we have been able to do at home this summer).
Amanda & Neil (who, sadly, we did not meet) are nearing completion of another gite from a former grain store which will provide splendid family accommodation. It is lso in the same grounds.
We were sad to leave, would love to come back and unreservedly recommend it if you are looking for a quiet location and a good relaxing base.

A lovely place for a holiday

We really enjoyed our stay here, and Amanda couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The gite lived up to its description, as did the surroundings.
It was great to be able to go on walks and bike rides straight from the gite; the countryside, especially the Grande and Petite Cascades, is wonderful. There were so many places to visit by car, that a week wasn't really enough - Granville, Coutances, Domfront, Mont St. Michel ...
We'd definitely recommend staying here!
