Country house in quiet ecological zone at 15 km from the beach
Beautifully restored rural house ideally located in the middle of a protected ecological area. Very quiet surroundings with a direct view over the national park of Mestras. Excellent conditions to observe and enjoy natures´ flora and fauna and where respect for nature is fundamental. Some animals that were victims of cruelty have found a safe haven on this 5000m2 piece of land. Perfect environment to rest and regain your forces. Close to some of the many spectacular beaches and close to a wide variety of museums, precious monuments and well famed restaurants serving the best of the traditional Portuguese kitchen. Other local suggestions not to be missed are the astonishing Lagoon of Obidos with a sailing school offering several sports activities, the medieval and culturally active town of Obidos, the fishing town of Peniche, the Berlenga islands surrounded by transparent ocean water and the both peaceful and spectacular Serra dos Candeeiros.

This restored rural house is situated in a protected ecological area in the middle of a green valley surrounded by hills and small villages. Perfect for the person who wants to rest from the daily fuss, read a book in the shade under a tree or who prefers a good walk in full nature. However there is ample choice to go and see things once you are up to some more action. There are various smaller towns of significant cultural and historic interest: Caldas da Rainha (ceramics, spa, historic center with traditional shops and cafés), Óbidos (medieval town buzzing with musical activities and events all year round), Alcobaça (Apart from the monastery in the middle of town, it managed to keep most of its original typical Portuguese features) The nearest beaches are located at about 15-20 km from the house. There are several beaches offering different scenarios. Calm bays, wild Atlantic waves & wide sand beaches, a fantastic lagoon near Caldas in Foz do Arelho it is a matter of preference!
