Tom Barry House is in the centre of Main Street in Clifden town. 4*** Failte Ireland approved: When you walk outside the door here, you are in the centre of everything.Dishwasher/Washer Dryer, Fridge Freezer, Power Showers, NTL in all units. There are umpteen restaurants, bars and shops to enjoy outside the door. On street parking. CCTV security. Please aks for web address to see the areas amenities. The Penthouse (2 bed/2 bath) has a King-size bed and a lit roof garden. It is located on the 3rd floor. The 4**** Executive Suite is a large, luxury, 2nd floor 2 bed apartment. All windows look out on the main Street and you can people watch while you dine. The Courtyard apartment (2 bed/1bath) has a huge Master bedroom, and a twin room. 1 bathroom. Located on the 2nd floor also.

Perfect location for a lovely apartment

The listing is 100% accurate. The property is beautifully maintained, and the rental agent is very helpful. (I mentioned on the day of arrival that I needed an ice cube tray & measuring cup; these were provided later that same day.) There is good public transportation available a block away; free parking nearby at the Tourist Office (which also has helpful info and Irish souvenirs for sale).

We traveled a few times into Galway City, to Roundstone, Inishbofin (via ferry from Cleggan), Kylemore Abbey (just gorgeous), Connemara National Park, all of which are nearby. Teenaged son & I really enjoyed the Dan O'Hara pre-Famine homestead.

3 supermarkets (Supervalu is the best and had a great selection of vegetarian items, Irish cheese and produce, and an extensive liquor/wine/beer selection as well as all the usual foods) within walking distance. also restaurants, pubs, shopping, movie theatre.

Be sure to grab a snack at Walsh's Bakery, around the corner -- great bakery, nice sandwiches, and eat in the back by the window to enjoy the beautiful view overlooking the valley.

If you're looking for a quiet place to stay with all kinds of things to do nearby, this is the place.

Yvonne, we had a great time. Super location. Right in the middle of everything yet tucked out of the way.
Thanks for the babysitter you recomended. Everything worked and it was refreshing not having to deal with taxis all the time!
