Stylish Chalet in romantic Mosel wine village near Trier
Ecologically designed and purpose built chalet in romantic Ruwer wine valley overlooking vineyards and lush forests. The accommodation sleeps 7, is light and airy with a contemporary feel. The holiday accommodation was purpose-built following ecological design and building principles. If you're here for wine tasting or buying, cycling or hiking you couldn't be better situated. The prestigious estates von Kesselstadt and Karthaueser Hof are in immediate neighbourhood along with many less known brands in walking distance. Our guests will enjoy a wine tasting with six selected bottles of superb Riesling wines from the area. A 'buy local' shopping guide is available. At the heart of the house is the spacious custom-designed kitchen featuring the very latest in energy saving technology. The neighbouring dining room leads out onto the spacious balcony with stunning views over the landscape beyond. The house if fully equipped (inc bedding and towels). Three bicycles can be hired FOC

Cycling and hiking starts at your doorstep and you will find endless pleasure in peddling or walking on dedicated car-free tracks along the picturesque meanders of the river Ruwer and Moselle. Chill out with a glass of Riesling wine and a home made meal in traditional 'Strausswirtschaften' (wine estates serving their own produce in a family atmosphere). A beautiful open air swimming pool is located nearby (4 miles) and is suitable for all ages. You can spend a whole day for very little money. Don't miss out visiting Germany's oldest city Trier (8 miles away). Trier is a 2000 year old Roman city - home to six Roman emperors and has many ruins including the impressive Porta Nigra (the black Gate), a four-story structure that was once part of the city's walls. There's a very good bus connection from the village centre every 20 minutes. Diversity probably describes this fascinating area best. Whatever you fancy doing you will find it can be done.

Infrastructure
The wine village Waldrach benefits from a very good infrastructure. A medium sized supermarket sells fresh vegetables and fruit, fresh bakery products and nice meat along with almost everything else. There's a choice of two other bakeries, one of which will be opened even on Sunday mornings to provide you with freshly baked rolls and croissants. Pick up a bottle of fresh grape juice or wine from one of the many vintners on your walk or cycle back to the house through the vineyards. A few restaurants, a doctor's surgery, a pharmacy and bus stop for a short ride to Trier are equally located in the village valley. We have excellent relations with the local vintners and are happy for you to contact them for wine tastings. If you are interested in the art of winemaking why not come here during the wine picking season and participate harvesting grapes that are freshly pressed at the premises for the making of delicious Riesling and Pinot Blanc wines?
