Unique, two person self catering property set in large, landscaped garden with mill race and river. Off the beaten track. Le Moulin, the way is 5min drive from Lignol or Kernascleden with baker, creperies and restaraunt. Supermarkets, range of shops and cash points 9kms at both Guemenesur-Scorff and the international cycling town of Plouay. 35min from the south coast of Brittany. Open plan accommodation with separate shower and toilet. Gas cooking and oil heating make the Mill suitable for year round use. Washing machine available. Linen and towels provided at no extra charge. Main season changeover Wednesday (Cheaper ferries and flights), but out of season to suite your requirements. Southern Central Brittany. May be found just south of the D782 equidistant between Lignol and Kernascleden in a quiet rural setting. The ex-water mill is set in a large garden with woods. Various picnic tables in different locations around the gardens. Relax at the top of the rockery 20 metres above the stream, at stream level or on the open lawn. Bar-b-que to place as you please. The south Brittany coast is 35 minutes away. Two creparies and two good restaurants with 5 minutes drive. A good range of restaurants close by in Plouay and Pontcallec. Lorient half hour away. Vannes, Gulfe du Morbihan Quiberon, Auray, Pont Aven, Carnac, Quimper 90 mins away. Easy access to the north, west and south coasts & the lakes of Pontcallec, Priziac and Gualedan.To the north and south is the Nantes-Brest canal ideal for cycling and exploration.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Short breaks available at short notice charged @ 3/7 of weekly rate for two nights and 5/7 of weekly rates for four nights. If the stay crosses over two rates then charged at the appropriate fraction for the higher rate. Weekly lets starting/finishing on a day other than Wednesday available out of Peak period. If there is a rate cross-over again charged at higher rate. Two weeks or more charged at rate as applies. A housekeeping deposit of 90 Euros is charged on arrival against leaving as found without unreasonable breakages. This is returned on departure.

Of our answer is posative you send a Deposit cheque with the signed booking form that may be downloaded from our website, by overland mail to our address. We receipt by email. Deposits are non-refundable. We invoice by email 35 days before your holiday start date giving travel directions from ports and airports and, if necessary from country borders. The Balance is again receipted by email. Credit transfers are available for Balance payments only. If you wish to pay in €uros or other currancies you may do so by credit transfer but if our French bank makes a charge to us for your incoming payment this will be deducted from your Housekeeping Deposit of €90 paid on arrival. (See above.) If you wish to do this please enquire and we will let you know the prevailing rate.

Notes: We ask people not to smoke in the Mill but you are welcome to smoke outside if you so wish. The accommodation until 1952 was a watermill. This means that the river, mill race, bridges and general environment make the accommodation unsuitable for the infirm. If in doubt, please enquire without obligation, by email or phone. Our grounds, as you would expect of an ex-mill environment are not swaddled in cotton wool. In other words you are required to assess what maybe of danger to you and take responsibility for your actions.

Further details for this holiday cottage rental in Lignol, France

This area of Central Brittany is heavily wooded and hilly. Ideal for cycling and walking. Lock up bicycle store available.

Anyone with a physical disability should contact us before booking. (There are steps going up to the property entrance and stairs to the mezzanine bedroom.)

The watermill no longer functions as such but the mill stream, mill pond and, of course the river are still present.

Relaxing riverside setting

This Mill is a quiet rural setting by a river. The Mill is well furnished and very quaint! Plenty of outdoor seating areas along the riverside. The owners were excellent hosts and very helpfull in giving us information about the area.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway
