Tastefully restored, the Cottage accommodates 8. The kitchen is equipped with freezer, fridge, dishwasher and electric cooker. It also has a wood-burning fireplace. Next to the kitchen, the living room has DVD and TV. The terrace has a barbecue with table and benches. The downstairs bathroom has a washer and tumble drier. There is a double bedroom downstairs looking over its own patio. Upstairs are three bedrooms, two twin and one double, and a second bathroom. Central heating is electric. The pool and surroundings are child safe. There is a covered play area with badminton, ping-pong, see saw, climbing ropes and pétanque (the French national sport of bowls).

The house was once the home of the kennelman for the castle who looked after the boar hounds. Downstairs there's a kitchen-dining room and a sitting area. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric plates and a self-cleaning oven. It looks out directly over a lawn in front and a shaded pond which is the home of a flock of ducks. At the side of the pond is a patio shaded from the sun by trees with garden furniture and a barbecue. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, and one with a single bed and two bunk beds. Off the landing, there's a bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet. The Kennels accommodates 4-5.

Sommery is noted for its absolute peace and quiet. The property is on the private estate of 50 acres of the oldest inhabited castle on the Loire This part of Burgundy is away from the North-South motorway from Paris to Marseilles and from the crowds and traffic that it brings. Nevertheless the area offers many activities all within easy reach: a theme park, zoo, via ferrata, kayaking, paragliding with an instructor, karting, restaurants, vineyards, châteaux, gardens, historic churches, markets... The castle is only 7 minutes from the East-West expressway which in turn connects to all the main French motorways.
