Located in the tranquil village of El Roque in between Valley San Lorenzo and San Miguel within easy reach of the beaches at El Medano and Los Cristianos and all the golf courses in the south of Tenerife. The finca is a spacious 3 bedroomed property surrounded with fruit trees. The property has fantastic views of the sea and mountains, being ideally situated between them both. It is equipped with all the facilities that you would need for an excellent stay in the beautiful island of Tenerife. Arrive through the private gated entrance up a few steps to a lovely enclosed courtyard where you can find the heated swimming pool. Patio doors open into the kitchen diner with a delightful blend of quarry tiles. In the living room you have an open fire, Sky and British TV, with a lovely wooden floor and wooden beamed ceiling. Main bedroom has double bed and is ensuite and the second bedroom has a double bed and next to the bathroom which has a jaquzzi bath fitted. Third bedroom has 2 single bed

Finca El Roque is ideally located approximately 15 minutes from airport Tenerife Sur 20 minutes from the excellent beaches of Los Cristianos, and 20 minutes drive from the wonder of mount Teide. It is an Ideal location for all types of holiday whether you want to totally relax, or walk on the many routes provided or even bike up the mountains surrounding El Roque. It is also only 20 minutes drive to the excellent water sports beach of Medano, and for the ladies there are the wonderful shops and Tapas bars in Valley San Lorenzo only 5 minutes away. There is a never-ending amount of fantastic restaurants to try in the area fulfilling all the variety of foods available on the island. There is an excellent bus service that can take you to many villages for you to try their restaraunts without worrying about driving

Notes: Because of the steps up to the courtyard enterance the finca is not suitable for the infirm. No smoking inside of the property but smokers allowed outside of the property in the courtyard area.

Best of Both Worlds

The owners of the property Tracie & Dave gave us a very warm welcome showed us round and supplied us with many helpful hints for good local resaurants & places to visit.

The accomodation was spotless full equiped with everything you could require and spacious. Tracie had even supplied a more than adequate welcome pack, which was very much appreciated as we arrived late evening.
The large garden area is full of fruit trees and the aroma from these was very pleasant as we sat on the patio in complete privacy sipping our cuppa.

We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the rural area away from the hustle & bustle of the main tourist areas but these are only a few minutes away by car for the beaches, shopping, night clubs etc. although there is a regular bus service to Los Christianos only 2 minutes walk to the nearest bus stop.

The property is beautifully positioned to get the sun onto the patio for most of the day but the interior is built in true Spanish style so that it remains cool even when the sun is at its highest.

We found books on Tenerife, both for tourists and information about the origins of Tenerife had thoughtfully been provided along with other reading matter and the latest toursit newspaper.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definately return there and have recommended it to all our friends.

PERFECT RETREAT

Ideal retreat for getting away from the crowds. Situated in a quiet traditional village with easy access to Airport and coastal resorts. A car was included within the holiday price and full use was made of this. Tracie and Dave are excellent hosts and made us very welcome, the welcome pack they provided was very generous. We enjoyed the privacy of our own garden space which we used to full advantage for eating alfresco and sunbathing. We found the bed to be large and so comfortable. Just on the doorstep is an excellent hairdressor - she's definitely worth a try. We had a fantastic holiday and we shall definitely be going back again.

A wonderful Finca

The finca is beautiful and equipped with everything you could need for a self catering holiday, it is set in between resorts and mountains so with a car you can have the best of both, tourist Spain or truely Spanish . The views are great as is the surrounding areas. The owners Tracie and Dave are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble. We will be returning to this property again several times in the future with everything around it to visit and see two weeks is not enough! We found some lovely restaurants in the small villages near by with good food at excellent prices. The beaches of Los Cristinos are only 15 mins drive away or there is a regular bus service from the top of the road which is very handy.
The Finca is in a quiet location so you can choose to total relax with comfy nights in if you wish, having english t.v an added bonus !
To some up this Finca is excellently done out with everything you could need, in a place were you can choose what kind of holiday you require, with friendly, helpful owners on hand with any advise you may need.

HIKING AND RELAXING

We stayed at the property for two weeks – 8.3.08 to 22.3.08. Primarily it was a walking/hiking holiday but as we had two weeks we also planned some lazy days. We hired a car for the duration of the holiday.

There are not many walks near to the property; the closest was in Ifanche, which was about 8 miles away. We managed around 90 miles walking during our break.

We take this type of holiday several times a year in mainland Spain, La Gomera, France and Austria.

POSSITIVES
The owners, Tracie and Dave gave us a good welcome and provided some basics in a welcome pack. The property is attached to there home but they were helpful without being intrusive and we only saw them when we sought them out.

Not far from the airport and easy to find.

Off street parking.

Nice clean accommodation and quite well equipped.

Small supermarket for basics within walking distance and much larger one within 5K.

NEGATIVES
The main garden was like a builder’s yard when we were there – as you sat on the patio you looked out at a cement mixer and a partly completed garden path. The view from the garden if far from appealing anyway, a large pylon and backs of other houses.

We were not warned of the mess before arriving, if we knew it was like that we would not have booked. However, Tracie and Dave assured us the work would soon be complete.

Rural but very noisy due to a busy road junction just above from the patio area. Screeching bikes, buses and lorries whilst you attempt to relax on the patio area.

Lots of yapping from neighbour’s dogs each side of the property.

Not a pretty village and only two very smoky bars. If you wish eat out you have to take your car to the next village.

The most uncomfortable and noisy bed we have ever had to try and sleep on.
Owner's Response: Whilst it is true we are in the process of doing work to the garden to make for a better surround for guests, I think the comments above to be a little exaggerated,We were doing works to the garden while the cottage was empty and took the booking at short notice. The road noice i think is also exaggerated, and as we live in a rural community you will always have a coule of dogs around you. The bed is a new one and i think 1 bed is comfy for some and not for others.
There are many walks around us the nearest being within walking distance, located in El Roque itself.

Quiet Retreat in Tenerife

This Spanish style farmhouse has been tastefully restored. We were welcomed by the owners Tracy and Dave who were very friendly and helpful.
It is conveniently located 15 mins from the Airport. It is also close to Los Cristianos/Playas des Las Americas beaches yet set in the mountains and only a short drive away form Mount Teide. We were very happy with the accommodation it is spotlessly clean and has all amenities for a comfortable stay.

This is particularly suitable for a romantic/walking/ beach holiday for a couple.

We found a couple of excellent resturants nearby although a car is essential.
