The apartment is situated in a quiet, well established residential area of Lagos. It is 5 minutes walk from the centre of the town and has easy access to several beautiful beaches such as the stunning Meia Praia, dramatic Porto de Mos and romantic Dona Ana. This comfortable apartment will appeal to couples and families looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday amongst the locals. The apartment itself is on the second floor of a small block and is home mainly to Portuguese residents. It faces the bay of Lagos and (therefore) benefits from stunning open views over the hills of Monchique, the old walled town and the beautiful bay of Lagos. The apartment comprises of a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living room opening onto a balcony with magnificent, uninterrupted views, a double bedroom with balcony (same view), a second bedroom with bunk bed and one bathroom. It is the perfect base for beach lovers looking for a relaxing holiday in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.

Location: Lagos Town in Portugal

Nearest Airport: Faro at 80 Kilometres
Nearest Train: Lagos at 2 Kilometres
Nearest Motorway: Lagos A22 at 5 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 1.0 Kilometres
Car: not necessary
The apartment is seconds away from local shops (butcher, grocer and mini market), post office, cafes and restaurants. All of these represent good value. A special mention should go the 'O Brito' bar for its good food and friendly atmosphere. The apartment is within easy walking distance of the historic town of Lagos (about 5 minutes for those on a mission or 10 minutes if one walks slowly); slightly further for the marina, the castle and museum of Lagos. The town itself really comes alive at night and is welcoming and friendly. Lagos is a short distance from Sagres and Cape St Vincent (one of Europe's most westerly points) and (in the other direction) within easy driving distance of water parks (Sllde and Splash, Aqualand and Zoomarine) and other beaches at Carvoeiro and Alvor. Inland is the national park at Monchique (visible from the balcony) which is a cool oasis on particularly hot days.

The property is a traditional apartment. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge with a small balcony which catches the morning sun. Spacious main bedroom, smaller second bedroom with bunkbeds, both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. The view overlooking Lagos town and the beach and bay is wonderful. The area is quiet, with a corner shop within 50 meters walking distance. Lagos town centre is a 15 min stroll. There is a private roof terrace and a nice restaurant within 150 meters. I enjoyed my short stay in the apartment. The only downside (albeit not really too much of an issue for me but could be for others) was no satellite TV, nor a life in the apartment block. I would stay in this apartment again.

Fabulous view, friendly locals

This a spacious apartment in a excellent location. We found it was immaculately clean and very well equipped.

There were lots of nice extra touches, such as a CD player, which made it feel homely, without being "fussy".

Being slightly outside, but close to, the town walls make it an easy stroll into the lovely old town, with all its bars, night-life and quaint little streets. However, if preferred, in the evening one can sit on the balcony, sip a glass of wine and enjoy the fabulous views across the bay.

The beaches of Pinhao & Dona Ana are in easy walking distance. The walk along the cliff to the lighthouse at Ponta da Piedade is fabulous, and not too far. Don't forget your hat & sun cream though!

It's fair to say this is an ideal location for the keen walker (or in our case - strollers). You certainly don't need a car. The train and bus stations are about a 20 minute walk and public transport is efficient and cheap. The train fare from Faro to Lagos is only 12.80 Euros return!

If you don't want to stay right "on the strip" and enjoy mixing with the locals (who are extremely friendly), this is the ideal place.
