The Old Fort Villa - Award-Winning Historic Caribbean Estate

This intimate estate house is available exclusively for villa bookings. Cool and breezy, the Old Fort is the only place on Bequia with breathtaking 180-degree° views of nearby Mustique and other Grenadine Islands. Our buildings are set in 30 acres of lush, tropical grounds, while our 6 spacious rooms are separately located in different areas of the main mansion, providing hard-to-find classic old-world ambiance and luxury in a beautiful natural setting. Selected in the 18th century by the French for strategic rather than purely aesthetic reasons, the promontory estate site today, together with our helpful staff, provides everything a guest wishes and desires. The grounds are extensive with nature walks through meadows to seaside cliffs, and hikes to nearby secluded beaches.

Bequia may seem remote and hard to get to, however it can be easily reached from Europe, USA, and Canada. Six major Caribbean gateways offer hassle-free access to the island via air: San Juan - Puerto Rico, Barbados, St Lucia, Martinique, Grenada and Trinidad. We recommend Barbados as it provides more daily connecting flights to Bequia and St. Vincent than any other gateway airport. A popular route includes a flight into St. Vincent via any of the major Caribbean islands, followed by a short ferry ride to Bequia. We would recommend you to fly directly into Bequia on SVG Air or Mystique Airways, who offer daily flight services to and from the island. Our property is centrally located and is less than 10 minutes from the best beaches, 10 minutes from Port Elizabeth, and 15 minutes from the Bequia Airport.

The manager, lives in a separate house on the compound. He has experience and can help organize whatever guests desire i.e. fun tours to other islands, boat trips, health treatments, wellness, sailing, diving and snorkeling.

What a wonderful place! My husband took me to the Old Fort on Bequia as a birthday surprise and he couldn't have chosen better. The house and garden are lovely (bouganvilia and humming birds; lizards and fire-flies) the views are breath-taking, and the staff were charming and very welcoming. They also have very friendly dogs!
Qirin, whose family has owned the Old Fort for almost thirty years, is a genial host who couldn't have been more helpful, offering recommendations on restaurants and trips (ask him about the speedboat to Tobago Cays). We heartily recommend the Old Fort and Bequia, and sincerely hope to be back.
