The house offers spacious and modern open plan living/kitchen area with direct access to the garden/pool area. It contains a TV, DVD and video player, a well stocked library and a piano. The kitchen contains a washing machine, dishwasher, range cooker and an American style fridge. The lower ground floor also contains a DVD/video player/TV/Library/Piano room and a Bathroom/WC. A conservatory area gives access to a side road and to the garden/pool. The main entrance to the house is situated on the upper ground level. Bedroom one (double) and bedroom two (double/twin beds) and bedroom three (bunk beds and cot). There is also a reading room with armchairs and a wood burner to keep you warm on the cooler evenings. The top of the house contains bedrooms four (king size bed), bedroom five (double/twin beds) and bedroom six (double/twin beds). There is also a shower room/WC. The garden area contains outside table and chairs, barbecue area and an above ground pool.

La Forge is in the heart of Cathar country, its beautiful country location offers countless scenic day trips to many and varied destinations all year round. The Mediterranean is an hour and a half drive away by motorway and the numerous mountain lakes and mountain gorges of the Montagne Noire are just minutes away. When you visit the fortified town of Carcassonne you are transported back to the Middle Ages. The cité of Carcassonne a UNESCO world heritage site is the largest medieval fortress in Europe and has 14 towers. To get to the cité you walk through the medieval town with its narrow, winding streets and many interesting shops offering crafts and souvenirs etc. The Montagne Noire is marked by the diversity of vegetation due to influences from the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. You can observe at a distance of a few miles completely different vegetation and completely different climatic influences. The village has a bar/café, boucherie and a small supermarket.

Testimonial: We had not expected the house to be so big,the furnishings are beautiful and with so much space it was perfect for our two families to share.We loved the walk winding through the woods and were surprised at how much even our teenagers did too! The pool and the table tennis were great for the kids and the only downside was having to come home to our much smaller house! Heather & family East Sussex

Testimonial: We had a great time, it was good to have table tennis, chess, Scrabble etc to amuse ourselves with, plus the choice of all your books (though we’d obviously also brought our own with us), and your kitchen is lovely to lounge around in. The piano was a great asset too. We all instantly fell in love with La Forge which is comfortable and has a beautifully equipped kitchen. I very much hope to visit again in due course. Golf: Carcassonne golf course is a 30 minute drive away then a chip and a putt and you are there. Mazamet is about a 45 minute journey both are very friendly and welcoming. Both golf courses are very good places for food so you can visit without losing too many golf balls. Enjoy.
