Family skiing: This is an ideal chalet for families to share. There are bedrooms on the ground and second floors, separated by the open plan living on the first floor. Children love to go out and play on the slopes which are immediately next to the chalet. This works out at a very cost effective way of skiing in luxury in the highly sought after Three Valleys.

Catering: The chalet is fully catered and cleaned each day. We employ a young accomplished chef and meals are prepared to a high standard. Special requirements are provided for, including children's' meals. A chalet assistant cleans every day and helps serve meals.

Ski: This is a superb location for a chalet, right on the slopes between Courchevel 1850 and 1550. If offers ski in/ski out and it is possible to avoid the La Croisette area during busy times by taking the Tovets and Plantrey chair lifts. We have an arrangement with a ski hire company to have equipment delivered direct to the chalet. The hot tub out on the terrace is always welcome at the end of a day on the slopes. There is also a sauna and heated boot rack. We offer all that would be expected of a chalet holiday, fabulous food, great wine and open log fire in the evening. We don't provide transport but can advise on this and there are now good flights direct to Chambery, just over an hour away.

Fabulous Chalet Sophie

Mr and Mrs S Tullamore, Co. Offaly, Ireland
Review Submitted: March 19, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
We had a most enjoyable stay here in February. Chalet perfect for our family group, clean, warm, comfprtable. The food was to die for and the hot-tub an unforgettable experience, sitting in hot bubbly water while the snow fell particularly memorable. Log fire, comfortable couches and our every need carered for. Ski-in ski- out perfect, all in our group managed to do it although some are only skiing for third season. 1550 not really within walking distance, maybe 20 min hike down twisty mountain road but doable if necessary. Bus service was quite good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, could find no fault with chalet and will definitely return.

Boyz Ski Trip

Sotiris Athens, Greece
Review Submitted: March 5, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
Having skied around, the Alps and Tyrol, for nine years with friends, this year we had an exemptional price/value chalet.
Chalet Sophie is well located for ski in/out, just off an easy red run coming from Courchevel 1850. The living room with the fire place, the hot-tub, sauna, boot warmers and the table tennis only add to the chef's services (Campbell) and Louiza's (cleaner) charm.
Thank you all for a wonderful stay, wish to see you all next year.

Great value for family and friends

Supposed Head of Family Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK
Review Submitted: November 28, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2007
Rarely do you get a skiing holiday that matches the owners’ view of how great their own chalet is. Well, Sophie might just be the exception…

We rented the chalet across New Year 2007: my wife and I; 16/14 year old son and daughter, plus friends, with kids of similar ages.

It’s set in a quiet hamlet; very welcoming, extremely comfortable and well appointed… homely, to the point that we rarely ventured out of an evening, but rather sat around the fire, occasionally moving as far as the table tennis table when we needed to work off dinner. Music, games and DVD’s were on hand for the kids, when they got bored with their parents’ tales of fantasy skiing (…so it was a good job there was a stack of them!). Great views of the mountains (also available from the outside hot-tub, beer in hand - bliss; although not from the indoor sauna - but you can’t have everything!). The scenery is fantastic, especially when complimented with great food (cooked - yes! - breakfast; canapés/four course evening meal) and very decent wine. The chalet manager couldn’t have been more helpful and got on really well with the kids… although couldn’t persuade ours to ‘convert’ to snow boarding! When we did feel the need to explore, it’s an easy walk down the piste, or along the road, to 1550… where there’s plenty to do and for all ages. Oh yes, and there’s a great arrangement with a local hire company that will come to the chalet to supply/fit boots and skis. So farewell those Skis Location queues and angst!

The skiing? You’re simply in one of the best ski areas there is (and we’ve been to a lot over the years)… literally on your front doorstep. Full ski-in and-out, for all abilities. Our kids thought that being able to ski straight into the ski room was ‘so cool’. There is a fantastic choice of slopes for all grades of skiers and more restaurants than you can shake a ski-pole at, although some are a bit pricey. Although our guys are beyond lessons, we understand the ski school is pretty good and conveniently located at 1550, below the chalet. For those who want a little more freedom… on the day we booked a ski guide, it really opened our eyes to the on and off-piste opportunities that the Trois Vallees offers. Oh yes, and the toboggan run down from 1850 is an absolute blast for the whole family!

We’re at Sophie again this year and when a 16 and 14 year old say they’re actually excited about the idea of something, you know you’re onto a winner! Can’t recommend it enough!

Perfect family ski holiday

JJJJ UK
Review Submitted: November 28, 2008 Date of Stay: February 2007
We had a fabulous family skiing holiday at chalet Sophie. This chalet had everything you would want for a skiing holiday, and more. It was luxurious and spacious, plenty of room for 2 families plus a couple of extras. The piste is 20 seconds from the front door, and when you ski back to the chalet after a long day on the slopes, the boots went onto the warmers, we dived into the sauna, then the fantastic hot tub, before finally coming to rest in front of the roaring log fire, whilst the children went downstairs to play table tennis. At the end of the week we didn't want to leave.

Boys trip to Chalet Sophie, Courchevel 1550

TIMTEAMGENEPI HASLEMERE
Review Submitted: November 24, 2008 Date of Stay: March 2008
I rented chalet Sophie for a 'boys on tour' long weekend. The accomodation was fiest class. What can beat putting on warm ski boots from the boot-warming rack, skiing from your doorstep down to a high speed chairlift up to the mountains, skiing les trois vallees, lunching in the Cap Horn restaurant, sampling the local 'genepi' and working off the excesses by skiing down to 'bar le jump' for vin chaud and/or lager/guinness. Afterwards, the trip down the piste to the chalet front door seems very easy by then, even in the dark! To finish off a perfect day we relaxed in the sauna & outdoor hot tub overlooking the French Alps with canapes and drinks. Anyone still feeling energetic played table tennis before a fine 4 course meal. No need to venture out but if one wanted to there are bars in the town at 1550. Highly recommended.
