Manoir le Volveix is a luxury 17 century Dordogne holiday rental situated in a quiet hamlet close to Riberac with a secluded 11 acre park and gardens overlooking a farm valley. The Manoir and connecting Pigeonnier can accomodate up 14 with exclusive use of the pool and the gardens. The self-catering property has stunning views with lovely walks above the hamlet. Large heated swimming pool and landscaped pool area with fountain, terrace, infrared alarm and pool house. Other facilities include a swing and slide, barbecue, badminton, boules, computer, table tennis, pool table, English Satellite TV, Playroom with PS2 & games, DVD, video, hi-fi, wi-fi, CD and telephone. There are exposed beams, wood floors and antiques through the house. This beautiful Manoir and connecting Pigeonnier are situated in landscaped gardens and woods in a small hamlet 8 km from Riberac. The whole Manoir can be rented (including the Pigeonnier and sleeping up to 14) or the Pigeonnier can be rented as a single unit (sleeping up to six). Manoir le Volveix is a luxurious 17 century manor house overlooking a quiet farm valley of Dordogne's Green Perigord. The property has lovely views with great walks above the hamlet. Large heated pool and pool house with its own kitchen, shower and toilet. East wing ground level: Fitted kitchen with fireplace. Large separate dining room and well furnished living room with 5 metre tall stone fireplace. Sweeping oak staircase leading to gallery. The first floor has 2 grand bedrooms, one with en suite toilet and a separate bathroom and toilet. The second floor has a large bedroom with 4 single beds and en suite toilet, a double bedroom and separate bathroom and toilet.

The property is surrounded by rolling hills and fields of sunflowers, wheat and maize. Many beautiful villages, gardens and chateaux to explore nearby. 10 minutes away is the popular market town of Riberac which has one of the biggest markets in the south west of France every Friday morning. Riberac has a cinema, canoe & bike hire and cultural festivals during the summer. There are plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and two large supermarkets. Close by are Brantome, (the Venice of the perigord), Bourdeilles with its wonderful Chateau, Perigueux the capital of Dordogne and Aubeterre with its monolithic church. Other places not too far from the house include Sarlat (centre of the prehistoric caves), Royan (on the Atlantic coast near the Gironde estuary), numerous world famous vineyards and of course Bordeaux. A class act.......!

The profile on the web page does not do this property justice.

We had 12 wonderful days and were very lucky with the hot weather.

Every aspect of the house beat our expectations.
The pool & pool area was so good it was nearly impossible to drag people away for lunch and dinner.
The bed rooms were very spacious and very comfortable.
The kitchen had everything (plus more) that we needed.
The large barbeque area made it easy for us to accommodate the 14 people we needed to feed.
The living room was lovely (very spacious) although we didn’t use it much as we spent most evenings outside.
And most importantly for a number of our OCD victims, the house was very clean and tidy.

I would be happy to recommend this property to anyone and I undoubtedly will….

5 families (9 children between us) had a fantastic time at Le Manoir. There is so much space inside and out that it never felt crowded. It's wonderfully well appointed with masses to amuse children and grown ups alike. Whilst we ventured out to places such as Brantome and canoeing on the river, most days we stayed close to home making the most of the wonderful pool and grounds.

We're looking forward to our next visit!!

We all felt that it was the best house we had ever rented in France and we have rented quite a few. It was very well appointed and very tastfully done. It was quite interesting to see the very stark difference between this house and the other property we rented for the overflow guests a few km away, I am just so glad I got to stay at this lovely Manoir, put it that way. Group of 15 adults and children

Family celebration of 40 yrs of marriage

"Luxury Manoir" is certainly a very apt description of Manoir le Volveix. We decided to celebrate our Ruby Wedding by taking our 2 daughters, their husbands, 4 grandchildren & the in-laws to France for a week. We couldn't have chosen a better venue for such an age range (2 to 65). We have stayed in many French gites over the years but this by far surpassed our expectations in terms of facilities and accommodation. Le Volveix has the most well equipped kitchen I've seen - I only wish that the owner had stayed on to be our personal chef - there's an amazing library of cookery books!
Before we went, Monique had given me a contact for someone to do a 'meals on wheels' for our Anniversary dinner. Sure enough Jackie & John (an English couple) turned up at the appointed hour with a wonderful meal, served it and even cleared up afterwards - an excellent personal service which meant no-one had to worry about driving.
The thing which amazed us most was that anyone would let total strangers live in this beautiful home! Do visit - you won't regret it.

We had a FABULOUS time! Your house is brilliant - even better than the pictures on the website - Smashing facilities. I can honestly say that it was the best equipped property we have stayed in. You really have thought of everything.
