Zakynthos (Zante) holiday villa: Laganas

The first and foremost would be the fact that we were not met at the airport at the beginning of our stay.
On our arrival there was no welcome pack as promised. No information book in the villa to direct to any local amenities ie the supermarket, beach, restaurants etc . This is the first holiday accommodation that we have stayed in in over 12 years that doesn’t have an information book containing basic information, useful phone numbers and potential problems in the local area, in this case the intermittent supply of water and the regular tripping of the electric system.
Once we had looked around the villa we noticed a number of problems and others occurred during our stay
Only one remote for both the upstairs air conditioning units which meant frequent trips from room to room during the night
No iron or ironing board – we asked for on numerous occasions
Only 3 large drinking glasses – we borrowed some from next door in the end

All but one of the sun loungers outside could not be moved into a sitting position as the plastic retainers had broken
Shutters on the patio doors of both bedrooms were broken. Angelos told us these would be fixed when we arrived, but his never happened
The beach at Lagana’s is much further than outlined on the website – unless there is a nearer beach that we don’t know about due to the lack of information? In the height of the season it is inconceivable that you would walk to the beach and the website states that a car is not necessary.
Electrics tripped in the evening when Villa’s 1-3 were occupied. This happened virtually every other day and there were no instructions as to what to do in this event.
Water only came on every other day during the second week and although we didn’t run out of water in the tank it would have been useful for this to be explained at the beginning.
We were told at the beginning of the holiday that we would have a change of linen at the end of the first week. This did not happen until Tuesday evening of the final week after numerous texts and again this was not acceptable.
