A traditional-style two bedroom apartment situated near the Cap Roig botanical gardens and within walking distance of the delightful village of Calella de Palafrugell, one of the 'jewels' of the Costa Brava coastline, with its many small, secluded bays and stunning scenery. The village has lots to offer including restaurants, bars and shops. The flat itself is perfect for a family or a couple. It is very peaceful, surrounded by trees and with views of the sea, making it a perfect place for relaxing. However, the communal gardens with swimming pool (located opposite the apartment), ensure that there is also lots of do for the more active. There are only 6 apartments in our building with parking underneath. The large sitting/dining room with seating for 6, leads onto a generous balcony. There is a fully-equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a bath and shower. The master bedroom has sea views and the second bedroom is a twin.

The Catalonian coastline between Barcelona and the French border offers some of the most spectacular coastal scenery. Barcelona with its international airport, less than 2 hours away, is home to some of the world's finest architecture. Figueres to the north houses Salavador Dali's art gallery. Girona, also with an international airport, only 45 minutes away, is a wonderful city to visit. Even closer, the historic towns of Pals and Begur are well worth a visit. To the north within a short drive there are three super golf clubs, Emporda, Playa de Pals and Serres de Pals and to the south there are several more including Platja D'Aro and Calonge, offering some of the best golf in the world. The Medes Islands just off the coast are a World Wildlife preservation site and world renowned for the beauty and variety of fish species. Local boats can be hired and some of the best dive sites are in the area.

    A refundable deposit for damages of £100 in cash is required on arrival at the apartment.

Spacious apartment in quiet apartment building

We greatly enjoyed our stay in this clean, well maintained apartment.

A local shop at the bottom of the road (5 min walk) was useful, Fantastic Llanfranc beach a 5 min drive away has great sand and safe bathing.
The pool was small(six front crawl strokes!) but great for a dip and well maintained. Spacious balcony great for evening meals and drinks, and occasionally catching distant tunes on the breeze from some of the evening concerts at the nearby Jardine Botanique venue.

Kitchen is adequate for simple food preparation. The bedrooms, bathroom and lounge all good sized.
I recommend the addition of some simple beach equipment (beach mats, recliner?, parasol), as these are unlikely to be transported by travellers reaching the apartment by plane. Whilst it didn't bother us I think English TV would be useful for many visitors.
Overall, we had a great stay. Loved the local beaches and walks along the coast. Would highly recommend hiring a Kayak and paddling along the coast into some the spectacular coves and bays.

The apartment was very much as illustrated, and was adequate for our needs.
Kitchen is not brilliantly equipped for anyone who cooks.
The adverised T.V. is only spanish and no English channels.
Owner's Response: There is a DVD player in the apartment, so we would encourage visitors to bring a few movies to watch, as the television only has Spanish channels.

relaxation at it's best

The resort of Calella de parafrugel is a gem, It has a nice quiet relaxed feel about it, the little coves are clean and fun to snorkle in, the little town itself is very picturesque.
The apartment is clean and well equipped, whilst we were there it was very quiet as the other residents only came at the weekend. The underground parking is a godsend as the roads outside are narrow and twisty. My only gripe was that the swimming pool is in the communal gardens across the road from the apartment and i feel the picture and the information do not make that clear. We really enjoyed our holiday and i would recommend the apartment to all but those with walking difficulties as the apartment is up a couple of steep hills.
Owner's Response: We have amended the description to clarify the location of the pool. The swimming pool is 25m from the apartment, across the cul de sac. Our apartment is in the white building shown in the photo of the swimming pool. The balcony has a partial view of the sea, not the swimming pool, the benefit of which is that the balcony is very peaceful and private.

Rest and relaxation

My family and I ( 2 adults and 3 children aged 6, 9, & 11 )stayed at this lovely apartment for the last week in August and really enjoyed a great holiday. It is situated in a quiet residential area, yet just a ten to fifteen minute stroll to the really picturesque village of calella de palafrugell.
The apartment was very bright, airy and spotlessly clean, with a spacious lounge leading onto a lovely big balcony with views of the sea in the distance. We arrived after midnight and the owner was there to greet us and had provided us with a much appreciated basic grocery pack ( not part of the deal, but she knew we would need it due to our late arrival.........very thoughtful!) We used the swimming pool a lot which is shared with other residents but we found it was never busy even for the end of august.
The area has many beautiful coves and there is a very scenic cliff walk into the village, where there are a number of lovely restaurants,overlooking the sea.
The nearby coastal villages of Tamariu and Llfranc are very scenic and well worth a visit, but I would recommend hiring a car.

Would I return again?.............absolutely!

Pleasant, reasonably priced apartment.

The apartment is roomy & light and has an attractive living room that opens onto a good size balcony. Well furnished and a good kitchen. Bedrooms well sized but 2nd bedroom needs better light for reading. Easy drive to town centre - about 20 mins on foot. Pool quite small but fine for cooling down. Especially well placed for a (steep) walk down to a superb beach. Calella is a pretty town & very good location for an attractive part of the Costa Braza. A pack in the apartment with more information on local attractions, beaches, restaurants etc would be helpful.
