La Scuderia - Traditional Italy villa for rent

La Scuderia is a classic Italian villa in Tuscany, near the village of Tramonte. There are views across the plain of Lucca from a pleasant wooded vantage point, where on a clear day it is possible to see the sea. The property itself dates back to the 17th century and comprises a large estate of approximately 44 hectares. Its history includes a period as the centre of a farming estate and whilst it has been charmingly renovated, certain interesting elements of this legacy remain, including a former olive oil press. The property is furnished with antiques, chandeliers, paintings and heavy wooden furniture. To the rear of the villa are a small stables where the owner keeps horses: guests who are experienced riders can hire them to explore the Tuscan hillside. This Italian villa in Tuscany near Lucca enjoys good views from its hillside position.

The caretaker inhabits a self contained apartment to the rear of the property but at all times is discreet. He has a dog and several cats. The driveway is shared but all other facilities are private for clients' use. The garden itself is terraced so we do not recommend the house for toddlers.
