La Tzoumaz nestles in a pretty, green sided valley on the left side of the Rhone at an altitude of 1500m. The valley lies about halfway between Martigny and Sion, fabulous snow-capped mountains.
La Tzoumaz is ideally situated for winter sports. As a valley station of the Savoleyres cable-car it allows access to magnificent runs where it is possible to ski until the end of April. A wide variety of ski tows, chair lifts and cable-cars, provide connections to other resorts in the 4 Valleys region. Together with Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, La Tzoumaz form one of the largest ski areas in Switzerland offering over 400 km of runs and 100 lift installations.
In addition, La Tzoumaz also offers its guests, a small ski lift for children, a natural ice rink and a floodlit sledge run, for those in search of a surge of adrenalin.
La Tzoumaz in the Winter:
As part of the 4 Valleys, one of Europe’s largest skiing domains, (400 km of ski runs, 100 ski lifts) La Tzoumaz welcomes its skiing guests until the end of April. If you want you can ski all year round thanks to the glacier off Mont Fort. The 4-Valleys region is one of the only seven ski areas worldwide to hold 5 stars of excellence.
Beginners as well as experienced skiers can have fun in La Tzoumaz where skilifts, chair lifts and cable cars ensure an excellent liaison with the rest of the 4 Valleys region. In addition, a baby lift allows absolute beginners to gain confidence in perfect safety. There is a Swiss Ski School on site for expert instruction. Snowboarders: have complete freedom of movement on the La Tzoumaz ski runs. Sledging: Access to the sledge run is via the cable car to Savoleyres (2354m). From the top there is a 10km run back to the village at 1506m covering an 848m difference in altitude. Hele-Skiing: Flights leave from the Croix-de-Coeur for the Petit Combin.

Walking and Hiking:
150 kms of pedestrian trails open the way across meadows and pastures, through forests and clearings and even up into the high mountains.
Walks beside ancient watercourses will appeal to those in search of a pleasant, peaceful stroll across the flank of the mountain.
The Senses trail
The 2.7km long trail lies at 1700 metres altitude with 12 halts along the way. It will appeal to every nature lover as it enhances the contact with nature through all the senses. Exhibitions in the Forest Centre chalets cover the wide variety of local fauna, bird life and wolf.
Mountain Biking
Biking fun for everyone! Tracks for beginners and more experienced bikers. Mountain biking in La Tzoumaz is great fun and caters for the whole family. Transport installations open during the summer allow effortless access to the summits.
