14th Century farmhouse overlooking Etruscan Cortona
La Cesa is a sympathetically restored 14th century tower house set amongst 12 acres of woodland, garden and olive groves and approached along a cypress-lined avenue. There are 3 generous self-contained apartments, each with their own sitting room and private terrace. La Cesa can be let individually or as a whole. The 15m x 7m pool is set in the terraced garden above the house with stunning views across the valley to Cortona. Shady areas have been created around the pool and house with wisteria-covered pergolas offering areas for eating and relaxing. La Cesa'sguests are invited to use the kitchen garden for fresh vegetables and herbs. Cortona is only a 10 min. drive away and Florence, Siena, Rome, Perugia, Assisi, and San Gimigniano are each an easy day trip. Transimeno, the 4th largest lake in Italy is only 10 mins away with boat trips, wind-surfing and child-friendly beaches.

Originally the ox-stalls! Onoria has been transformed into spacious living accommodation on the ground floor. The enormous sitting-room has an open fireplace and large, comfy sofas, satellite TV and DVD. A beautiful arch divides the sitting room from the kitchen. Apart from the fridge, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine, the kitchen is verywell equipped for those who really like to cook. From the kitchen a door leads to the master double bedroom and bathroom. From the sitting room three steps lead up to the other double bedroom and twin-bedded room each with en-suite shower, bidet, toilet and heated towel rail. These 2 rooms both have French windows leading directly onto the garden. Outside there is a paved area with large canvas parasol over a table, seating and barbeque. The pool is a short walk away through the garden.

Our village, Pergo, is about 1km away and we are 10 mins from the Etruscan city of Cortona. The Esse valley has remained a peaceful area, with a slow, relaxed pace of life but at the same time it is easy to reach Florence and Rome by train and Siena, Perugia, Arezzo, Gubbio, Montepulciano and San Gimigniano are all less than an hour by car from the house. The local facilities are good, with a well stocked mini-supermarket in the village, a lively bar, bike hire and a wide choice of restaurants close by.
