This luxury beach front penthouse apartment is just steps away from the sandy bay of Armacao de Pera. Designed by a well respected interior designer this exclusive property will be coming onto the rental market in 2008 for the first time. It has everything the discerning traveller may require. From air conditioning through out , to fly screens to keep unwanted visitors out. A big screen plasma t.v. with a Sky package and dvd. Internet broadband connection for laptops if required .A long pretty balcony for El fresco dining, or sun bathing which looks directly onto the ocean. This is a self catering non smoking apartment. sorry no children under 14.Remember however ,our first floor flat is only too happy to cater for the whole family if you want to pamper yourself a nearby six star hotel provides a beauty salon and sports facilities There are numerous water sports from directly in front of the apartment.

Our luxury penthouse apartment is situated on the palm tree promenade of the traditional fishing port of Armacao de Pera. It is situated between Albufeira and Carvoeiro. Wake to the spectacular views over the ocean and finsh the day with a cocktail and your love watching the sun go down . Or have an El Fresco meal on the balcony and watch the fishermen return with their catch of the day, later served at the many fish restaurants in this busy village . Once you have acquired that oh so important tan you may want to shop 'til you drop. Then just 15 mins drive away you will find Algarve shopping Center. One of the biggest in Europe with over 140 shops , bowling alley, cinema and many restaurants. Perhaps you may prefer to visit the exclusive boutiques of Villamoura. Close by we have a six star Hotel (the only one in the Algarve) with it's sports facilities and beauty salon. Just steps away from the apartment we have a gym where you can have temporary membership or 15 euros a week.

Notes to the rental rates

These prices include a weekly clean during the stay.
Bed linen and towels are provided for on a weekly basis.
Discounts; 5% discount for two week bookings 10% discount for three week bookings. This does not apply for the period between July 1st and Sept 9th
Deposit required: 30% non returnable with booking, Remainder eight weeks before the commencement of holiday. At this time a seperate two hundred pounds security deposit is required . It will be returned after your holiday has finished providing no damage or breakages have occurred. We would notify you in writing should there be any charges from your security deposit.

The apartment is tastefully decorated, bright and airy and looking directly onto the palm tree boulevard, with the sea just some forty steps beyond. It is a family owned apartment and this is the first year it has come on to the rental market. Some people may be familiar with our first floor apartment in the same complex, and therefore know the high standards we keep. We have a large plasma T:V: with sky package and DVD. The apartment is air conditioned and has fly screens.
All around you have restaurants, shops, interesting little bars, also Charlie's Water Dog English pub that has open mike on Thursdays .Typical Portuguese restaurants with chicken piri piri, and our famous India Restaurant The Raj, situated within the Garbe Hotel nearby to the apartment.. Maybe you would like to have a take away and sit on the balcony and watch the world go by whilst being serenaded by the many street musicians in the summer months. This is a lively resort town.

It is not necessary to hire a car as everything is at hand. The tourist office can give you bus time tables and the taxi's are very reasonably priced. Also it is possible to arrange trips to Lisbon, Seville and Gibraltar .
We can arrange transfer from Faro airport for 35 euros for up to four people. Whilst you are here why not pick up a fisherman's boat from the beach and see the famous grottos.

| Notes: | There is a nearby Hotel , just a step away that allows use of the swimming pool and has beach bar- In the warren of narrow streets and alleys everyone in the mid 19th century was employed in boat-building, fish processing and rope, sail and net making. In these streets and alleys everyone young and old were employed in keeping the boats out to sea to catch fish especially tuna .A few of those streets remain, with names bearing witness to the activities they housed: Street of sails and street of candles and lamps for example.Wandering through them, it is easy to imagine life here more than a century ago. The decline of the tuna stocks coincided with the emergence of tourism in the 1960's ,attracted by the spectacular expanse of golden sands . Today Armacao has over 4,000 permanent residents and summer tourist swells the number. Beachgoers are in their element in summer, boat trips weave in and out of the sea caves and pillars of rock, viewing the spectacular cliffs to the west. |
Theme Parks and interesting places
Armacao de Pera is very near to two water parks. Ask at the torist office where you collect your free Aqualand bus whilst buying your ticket. Zoomarine - an oceanographic theme park , including delphinium is just 15 mins to the East, this also has a bus to collect you. A tiny chapel, Nossa Senhora (Our lady of the rocks) perches on a promontory just west of Armacao. Unusually shaped and very old, it was built by local fishermen to commemorate a sighting of the virgin Mary on this spot. Another unusual chapel is at the side of the parish church in Alcantarilha, inland from Armacao. Open to visitors, it's contents are somewhat macabre: the walls and ceilings consist of the tightly packed limb bones ad skulls of 1,500 former parishers. Wander through the warren of streets in the old town of Armacao with names like Street of the fishing nets,street of the sails,street of the candles and lamps. Visit one of the many fish restaurants. We can promise you there is much to explore .
Nightlife
Situated by the mouth of the river Alcantarilha , Armacao de Pera has a surprisingly historic heart. It is believed Romans had a military base here to protact those living along the river. Old salt tanks used by the Romans to preserve their fish have been found on the beach., In l661 a fort was built at Armacao to protect the villagers from Pirates and invaders. Named after the local patron saint, Antonio da Pedra, local fisermen felt safe to settle below it's walls. A chapel was built within the fort, the original entrance remains. The old coat of arms is visable over the doorway and, on the other side towards the sea, the original flagstones are still in place. Parts of the fort have been rebuilt. The building on the left of the doorway housed troops before becoming a customs house and latterly, a police station. In the mid 19th century fishermen began to build houses and develope commercial activities, including boat building.
Golf Information:
We have five top class golf courses within a 15 minute drive of the apartment. Salgados and Gramacho are the closest golf courses both just a few minutes away by car. Carvoeiro (2 courses) and Penina (3) are 10-15 mins drive west and the 11 international courses of Vilamoura, Quinta do Lago and Vale de Lobo are about 20 mins away. Armacao de Pera is right in the center of the Algarve so all the golf courses East and West are easily reached. Many people enjoy the 9 hole course Vale de Milo at Carvoeiro and often classical music can be heard across the course from the club house.
