Includes a delightfully large open plan living area leading directly on to terraces and a covered veranda, the house is beautifully kitted out with all modern amenities. The pool, 8m by 4m is cared for by pool specialists and protected by a simple touch pad alarm, it sits surrounded by wooden decking and mature flower beds and shrubs in a professionally maintained garden that includes an automatic watering system. Books, TV and DVD player as well as Cd's and CD player, games and table tennis to keep everyone amused late into the evenings. Large open plan lounge/dining/ kitchen area, with comfortable sofas and dining furniture, fully equipped kitchen with hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/fridge freezer, washing machine. It is about 40 minutes drive south from Bordeaux Airport and a comfortable car drive from the ports of St Malo and Caen. It is also about 90 minutes by car from Biarritz Airport to the south. There is a rail service to Bordeaux and to Arcachon. Close to the fantastic French Atlantic coast this secluded and private villa is in easy reach of beautiful sandy beaches perfect for surfing as well as being walking distance from an enormous fresh water lake. Additional information about rental rates

  • On agreeing a booking, we will ask you to complete a booking form and send a cheque for 35% down payment in order to secure the booking. This is non-refundable and you may want to take out cancellation insurance to cover this. The balance is payable no later than 60 days before your arrival date. We reserve the right to re-let the villa if the balance is not paid by this date.

    A deposit of 750 euros against damage and leaving the villa in an unacceptable state is payable with the final balance. This will be returned within two weeks of your departure less any deductions due.
  • Prices are inclusive of normal usage of electricity and water. Pool maintenance is included. Double and single duvets and pillows are provided. Bed linen and towels are not provided and you will need to take your own sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers and towels. End of stay property cleaning is not included and guests will be expected to return a clean villa on departure.

Notes: Villa Fauvettes is fully fenced and gated to both the front and rear. The forest at the back of the garden behind the swimming pool has recently been cleared but the hedge provides complete privacy. The garden has an automatic watering system installed and is very private, the pool is not overlooked. Both the garden and pool are professionally maintained. The villa is fully double glazed and there are wooden shutters to all windows, except the bathrooms, which are protected by a decorative metal grille. The garage provides useful secure storage space for bicycles, windsurfers etc and houses the table tennis table so it can be played throughout the year.

Stretching from the vast inland sea that is the Bassin d’Arcachon to the foothills of the Pyrenees, Les Landes is a unique blend of pine forests, saltwater lakes and sand dunes, linked by one continuous sandy beach. It is blessed by a climate and sea conditions that encourage every kind of water and holiday sport, including some – like sand-yachting – which few will have tried before. Although the line of the coast may be straight, the variety it encompasses is huge.

Villa Fauvettes has everything you could need (and more besides). The house is very comfortable and the private pool a bonus.

We enjoyed Arcachon and the beaches at Biscarrosse and Mimizan are beautiful. The local Sanguinet bike hire shop wasn't expensive €9 for half a day and there are some very scenic routes to try (around the lake at Sanguinet for example).

I can definitely recommend Villa Fauvettes. The owners were very helpful and even borrowed a travel cot and high chair for the duration of our stay. A real home from home!
